Would you say that to your significant other? Or one of your children? Or your mother?

"So sorry. It was just your time."

Idiot.

Yeah, and I’m in an at risk category.

When it’s time to go, it’s time to go...

Didn't have to. That's how my parents lived their lives. Especially in their later years. They believed when it was time to, God called you home. You had to live your best life until then.

And, newsflash, you can't outrun death. No matter how hard you try or how fast you run.

How in the hell has a virus that’s been around for only 5 months and we already know the long term damage of organs??

Don't bring such logic into this discussion.

And since were are now using "long term damage" concerns as the reason to continue our gross overreaction, let's look at some other realities.

This week after the Big 10 completely fell flat on their face they hurriedly had a cast of lackey journalist write stories about a potential complications from a scary word, "Myocarditis" as the justification for shutting down the season they had just released the schedule for 6 days prior.

The problem is, Myocarditis isn't anything new. In fact, we've LONG known it is a potential complication of influenza infection (aka the flu. It is also a possible complication from other common viruses such as coxsackievirus. If you don't know, this is what causes things such as "Hand, foot and mouth disease" which is VERY common among children. Yet, despite knowing our new scary word of the day brought to you by the panic inducing media, Myocarditis, has long be a potential side effect of very common viruses, we've somehow managed to avoid completely fricking freaking out over it...until now.

At every single turn we (predictably) see cornoavirus (while very much real) is not nearly as bad from a relative perspective as the media and government officials desperately want you to believe. So the justifications for keeping the abject panic going have to constantly evolve. That's the pesky thing about reality. Sometimes it gets in the way of a grossly exaggerated, if not outright fabricated, narrative.

By the way? When are we ever going to "flatten the curve" on this? Or are we still waiting to see what happens in Italy in two weeks? I can't keep up with the current rationale in place to avoid living a normal and enjoyable life.

Yes, the new normal is not shut down all life to prevent all death.

The new normal is accepting that death is a part of life.

The small vulnerable population needs to be careful but the rest of us need to move on from this shite.

Humanity has survived worse than the Corona cold.

Local news in Chicago teased a story this week about a girl in her early 20s who nearly died from Covid, and the dangers it can cause anyone of any age.

When they finally interviewed the girl, she was a goddamn land whale. Of course no mention of any possible underlying conditions. The chest pains and difficulty breathing she experienced were solely due to the virus. She was perfectly healthy before this.

I felt bad for her, but her case shouldn't be used by the media as fear porn to keep the vast majority of healthy Americans from resuming normal life.

Yeah, I'd say that. Not like the ritard you're playing, but like someone who isn't dissociated with reality.

Since when are the frail/elderly or fat/compromised not supposed to be susceptible to an ugly flu virus?

I'm sure I can find some terrible story of someone young and healthy dying from this to disprove your statistically valid statement. Give me a few minutes let me check my liberal friends FB pages.

I’m with this guy. If we can save JUST ONE LIFE from this novel virus.

F%#€ the additional 7,000 suicides and 28,000 murders and 1,400,000 violent crime victims.

I am blown away by how many people on my FB feed are living in sheer terror, and have either NOT left their house since March, or have "begrudgingly" left for some task, but quickly returned. These were, I thought, functional adults in a society.

They post some demeaning thing about "anti maskers," and it's a circle jerk among friends. And yes, they are all northeast natives transplanted here into Atlanta area.
