Paying taxes is part and parcel part of your social responsibility as members of society in 2014 America (and Europe I guess). The issue here is not the amount paid but paying them at all. Sales tax, we all have to pay that. Income tax depends on the level of income with those getting paid more paying a higher percentage.
if the issue is some ivory tower bs that all taxation is theft put you head back up you butt and realize that this is how the world works. Government is there as a regulator of society and to provide services that are paid with the tax dollars of members of society.
That said it's Friday afternoon

Oh really?
Because taxes are not a transaction. A transaction is something willingly entered into. If I don't pay taxes I'm robbed or abducted, the slightest resistance I'll be shot.
Some transaction that is.

The way the world works: those that take the most out of the system often put the least back into it.
The more that system increases (and increasing social programs is the only way many politicians know how to get re/elected), the sooner it will fail.

Social programs are probably what saves this country from violent revolution. give the peasants enough to mange and to pay the game to keep the rich in power and not threaten the elite.
Get rid of the safety net and hungry people well go nuts.

For God's sake answer the fricking question.
It's like I am interviewing some corrupt politician over here.

It's been so long what was the exact question? Paying taxes is part and parcel of your social contract exiting in this society, period. any other thought is off the wall and not relevant to the real world

The hundreds of years of pre-Revolutionary development and the hundred+ years of Pre-New Deal say you are wrong.
With the way the country has become acclimated to social programs though, yes if we shut everything off today there would be mass riots. Social programs are akin drugs in that you have to wean users off slowly so they can re-acclimate to making it through the day on their own ability.
Every year the programs grow, so every year the government must increase their funding whether through raising taxes, running higher deficits or both.
While removal of the programs would cause the poor to revolt, over-burdening the wealthy will cause them to revolt. That revolt will be to pack up shop and go elsewhere. When all the wealthy are gone, where does government get the money for these programs for the underclasses? Who provides jobs?

You've had like 13 people tell you it's a terrible comparison.
Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose.

It will take more than a few drive by "your idea sucks" from the PT to discourage me.

Ok, then your thread will just die.

It will due to other's intellectual dishonesty.
