In the 80's during the El Salvadorian civil war, our gov't pretty much had an open door policy for them. A majority flocked to DC bc how the area was growing and the demand for low skilled workers for things like construction. So of course later on the dregs of their families wanted to join up with them.

I'm aware of that! I'm aware that RINO politicians like Howard County Executive Kittleman are condoning illegals in their counties and not allowing the police to inquire into immigration status. There is blame to go around!

Ahh ok thanks for the input. Just figured it would be a locale they would feel safe from ICE, etc.

a ton of the Hispanic population in the area is 2nd generation
lots of the first generation came to the area as kids in the 80s.

Is Fairfax in Fairfax County, or is this list incorrect? (Not arguing, just wondering, now)
And a sanctuary city does not necessarily have to keep ICE out. They can't. All they have to do is not enforce hold orders when ICE requests them to hold a suspect until they can be picked up. Just not cooperate with federal authorities when rounding up illegals.

If it was started by Reagan, then Reagan was wrong. But, your explanation is just one more reason why we don't need open borders and allowing refugees come into the country at will.

NOVA in general including Fairfax very much works with federals authorities. Despite what the blog you linked says.

I found some links showing Fairfax as a sanctuary city and some without them listed. Is it possible they used to be a sanctuary, and are not now?
