Yet his "base" won him Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Ohio, North Carolina, Florida, Iowa and came within striking distance of New Hampshire, Virginia and Minnesota.

Trump's base is enough to get him elected. Give him tax reform, healthcare reform and GDP growth of 3% for 4 years and he will be re-elected with ease.

Trump base did not elect him, he brought in a lot of swing voters and democrats in district that traditionally vote more liberal. What Trump did was TAP into people hatred of the swamp that is Washington DC. People want change!!

That wasn't his base. His base is in the Neighborhood of 30-33%. He got enough undecideds on Election Day to win. But those do NOT make up his base

Then he proceeded to keep most of the swamp, and just replace what he did drain.

hate to break it to you, but people who want change and are pissed off at the corrupt establishment are his base.

His base crosses party lines

Some of those states were won by very thin margins and he likely wouldn't win them again, especially against someone with less baggage than Hillary. Thus he needs to broaden his base.

Big ifs there, big, big ifs. He's not been able to get any legislation passed yet and his EOs have landed with thuds, either by being ruled unconstitutional or for being meaningless.

He does.

GOPe will attempt to sabotage him with Kasich, Sassy and McMuffin. He can't go hard in the paint like he did this go round. He needs to garner support from the #NeverTrumpers plus reach across the aisle.

He needs to get moving on his agenda and hopefully this special counsel can quash some of this BS that is hindering that.

You apparently don't even know what a melt is, because my post was nothing of the such.

Secondly, there's much of Obama's legislation in place and we need to reverse them while republicans control the White House and both halves of congress. This president has failed to exploit that rare, golden opportunity.

He's passed more legislation than either Obama or Bush at this point. And if that economy continues to improve, nothing else matters. Clinton had a horrible first term but was reelected in a landslide because the economy was booming.

He won those states by thin margins. Great accomplishment but a thin margin of error.

How about we try to make the party grow instead of just worrying about the base? Sell people on ideas and accomplish an agenda that proves Republicans/Conservatives/Trump aren't the boogeyman. That way we can win more elections.

So Trump wins states that havent been won by Republicans in since Reagan and you say that those very same people would rather vote for a decent democrat than the incumbent president who brought back jobs to their state, tax cuts to their pockets, and affordable heath insurance? Which democrat? Your line up is laughable.

We all know the "unconstitutional" ruling was political theater. It will go before the SC and pass so spare me the talking point.

As far as legislation, thats up to CONGRESS. Not sure why people think that Trump is the one writing the bill. Plus I'm not sure if you knew this, but there has been a bill passed in the House and is waiting to be sent to the Senate. Odd that you havent heard about it.

eta: plus like 24 bills he has signed as well. In case you didnt know it, now you do. The "He hasnt passed anything" line is a lie
