You have Trump who was elected because he spoke to the desires of everyday Americans. You have Republican lawmakers who run on the same ideals, only to completely disregarded them once they are in office. If these politicians all know that the stances they take before they are in office resonate so greatly with the general public, why do they go out of their way to do a 180 once they are actually in office? I just don't get it.

Because you thought republicans aren’t democrats too, it’s all one party. The current republican crop is just one half of the two card Monty show.

Personal power as opposed to party power. Along with that personal power usually comes monetary benefits. Dems are way better at party power compared to the republicans.

The country is divided. We have politicians on both sides who think winning with 50.1% of the vote gives them some sort of huge mandate.

You have a small number of mavericks, and one or two RINOs. Susan Collins, and Lisa Murkowski are true RINOs. Rand Paul is a maverick, who, when the chips are in will be reasonable. I can't say enough about how much I despise McCain. I would place him as traitor to the party. I would not want him in my fox hole, nor as a my wing man. He would do something to get me killed just trying to get the attention.
