I haven't been a huge fan of Mr Trump since he announced his candidacy.

I was against him all through the primaries. I voted against Hillary, hoping Mr Trump would surprise me. He hasn't, as he has pushed GOPe "solutions" for repealing Obamacare. He rushed the voting to get a W and failed. He has not even mentioned Rand Paul's HC plan let alone pushed it. His AG pick was atrocious, and gets worse every week. I will give him some points for Gorsuch and regulatory cleanup, but he has come nowhere close to putting the pumps in the swamp for draining.

With all that, he has done one thing that I always enjoyed about him… calling out media and assholery. I think he was dead on when he told the media off and called out the counter-protestors for their violence. There is absolute stupidity and bad actors on both sides, and it's good to see an R give a middle finger to the narrative.

The backlash from the media for Trump daring to point out all the bad actors is drawing more support for Trump from me, and I don't think I'm alone. They're acting like the popular snobby girl at prom that didn't get asked to dance and can't believe it. How dare a president not play by their narrative.

It's been too long since we had one. Trump has a long way to go, but if he keeps this up at least he has my respect.

I don't think he's going to get anywhere. And I voted for him. But I think he's not going to get anywhere because the Republicans and the Democrats in Congress are not going to allow his agenda to go forward.

He has to do what did to the media yesterday to the GOPe. Bring up freedom caucus plans and push the GOPe into a corner. Get ruthless. The gloves have to come off if he wants to get anywhere. He can't just keep pushing the GOPe plans.

He's still too easy on the establishment for me. However, he is gaining my support with spine. There are many others like me that will shock the hell out of theLeft in midterms

I'm the same as you.

People bitch about his personality or the way he talks or what have you, but the truth is a more timid man wouldn't have a chance at surviving the war that Trump has chosen to fight, the war we NEED fought. We need to shed this country of the establishment that has ruled it for far too long.

It's just a damn shame that people on the left can't recognize that Trump actually agrees with THEM on a lot of issues and getting rid of their own side of the duopoly would be a good thing.

Good, honest post Soul.

To be fair he did mention Rand's plan several times on Twitter.

Rand's plan makes sense. Which is why it doesn't have a chance.

That's nowhere near an effort, sorry. He has the bully pulpit. Use it.

He needs to call out the main GOP pricks by name that are hindering him.

Be nice if he did it weekly, especially with the 2018 elections coming up.

Exactly this. The moral grandstanding by these completely immoral people disgusts me. I hate these people and Trump will have my support as long as he is not on their side.

I have been a huge fan. This said, I held my nose on health care.

But I also understand why he needed it done, and it was for a more important reason than a quick W. Large parts of the tax cuts were predicated on certain aspects of the crappy, establishment, Republican version he had no choice on.

I have been a huge fan, and probably earlier than almost everyone on here. This said, I'm also on record a long time ago as stating he will either be one the the greatest POTUS ever, or a huge failure. There is no shade of gray with Trump.

You don't see me post often in the daily drama, but mostly in longer term issues and news matters. No sense at all posting 5 days in a row about the recent events. There is great sense posting about what Trump actually did say about the DOJ civil rights investigation however. Not only did many on here miss his exact words, but so did media, even conservative media. Interesting choice of words, and immediately after speaking with AG and acting DIRFBI.

Eta. DIRFBI, not acting per 8-2 confirmation.

I gained a whole new respect for Donald Trump yesterday. He truly isn't afraid to say what he truly believes in moments like these and it pisses me off he's being vilified for it when he did nothing wrong and did nothing to encourage and instigate the violence. It takes balls to not only withstand pressure from the GOP, democrats and the media but to them to go frick themselves.

This whole episode truly put on display in all its nasty glory the cuck appeasement culture that has rotted the GOP inside and out and only made me more entrenched against them.

The more the GOP focuses on fighting Trump instead of delivering on the agenda they promised their voters, the more Trump is proven right about them.
