Not only on this board, but in the media, too.

And, I would suspect, across the country.

PS - As for me, I don't profess to know 1) exactly how to feel about it, or 2) How it will play out.

Right now, I'm just kind of hoping this was a one-time deal. Which puts me "in bed" with Adam Schiff, which makes me very uncomfortable.

I am right there with you. On the surface it appears to be an appropriate response.

People can feel how they feel

It's not earth shattering news. Assad will have to use guns to kill people. And you can deduct 60 missilles from an arsenal of millions.

It's really all inconsequential IMO, but trump didn't keep his word with his Ron Paul supporters (of which there seems to be a great many) and they're done with him. Everyone in D.C. hates him...how is 2020 looking? I suspect not well but I'm not some expert.

The Rand Paul faction of posters on this board doesn't like this at all. I feel like we are the wolves in the wilderness again. I imagine most other Republicans and establishment Democrats on here support some form of military action.

I don't know how things play out in Syria, but this better wrap up fast for Trump to avoid blowback in the vote tallies.

Fortunately Rs don't have a lot to lose in 2018.

its superficial though is it not

If Assad want to kill a bunch of people he has men and they have a lot of guns. So what was accomplished other than something for people to feel good about. Oh look we helped the poor Syrians (we didn't)

Reagan did a similar thing during the early part of his presidency. While it wasn't bombs, he fired the air traffic controllers who were part of one of the few unions that supported him. That was received by the Soviets as a sign that he was serious.

It is, but it us just a shot over the bough since we haven't entered into conflict with Assad yet and it wasn't in response to an attack on us.

It might not be the end of any military response either. Depends on what happens from here on out.

People not supporting this are misguided.

Supporting this DOES NOT indicate support for a wider military intervention in Syria.

Russia is in Syria. Assad serves at the pleasure of Russia. This was a message to Russia, more than anything else, "Get your boy Assad under control or we will".

Putin does not like to look weak. Something tells me there will be no more Sarin attacks in Syria. Anyone want to make a friendly wager with me?

So people are dead we're out of some missilles and trump pissed off his base

And tomorrow assads men will have to kill them the old fashioned way...shooting them

But hey it makes us feel good. This is how I feel about recycling coincidentally

Hey all the best but tonight I'm thinking Obamacare is here to stay.

Not that hillary was eager to get rid of it, so it's not a loss just a really big meh

Well, it just so happens that international diplomacy is MUCH MORE NUANCED than that.

But keep on with your bullshite attacks of Trump because he hasn't done everything you wanted within the first 100 days.

I think when push comes to shove, this message was more for Russia than for Syria.

It's not a bullshite attack on him. As far as I know I'm still voting for him. I just don't think it's a good thing

I'm open to the idea I'm wrong, that's just what I think. I'm not seeing the nuance. Literally nothing was accomplished tonight and trump IMO lost more voters than he won

And we still have Obamacare. That's the only issue that wasn't childish I voted for

Honest Ted would've blown them up...but I have a feeling I'd be feeling better about healthcare and tax reform

I can't care because other than trump all the dems and republicans would've done the same shite. I actually think his best line was "what the hell do you have to lose" that's how I felt

If this is just a one-off "proportional" response to a usage of chemical weapons, it is probably a good decision. It attacked a military target, and apparently Russia (Syria's most important ally) was informed beforehand. That is how these things are supposed to be done. If this is the start of a long bombing campaign in Syria, it's a really bad way to go.

I was an Obama supporter and am absolutely no fan of Trump, but Obama's handling of the "red line" was terrible, and this is what should have happened. It sets a precedent that Assad cannot use chemical weapons on civilians, and if he does, we will attack high-value military targets.
