It's clearly the opposite of what I responded to.

He can't since there are 100x more documents where a founder expressed a belief that this nation was forged by the guiding hand of the divine God. The Judeo-Christian version to boot. The great majority of the original founders believed this and mentioned such in their letters and documents.

I can't think of anything more smug or self-important than believing the entirety of existence was created just for you.

You really think there will be that big of a shift from Christian to non-Christian in your lifetime? There are 247 million out of 321 million that identify as Christian. You'll have to wait a little while

Yep, but we're not talking about beliefs. We're talking about the founding of the country, which was done explicitly to keep religion out of it.

America is a country founded on Christianity. The majority of our citizens identify as some type of Christian. Christian teachings and morals are the guideposts that our founders intended to guide each generation of future Americans down the correct path. Yet we are so blessed to have freedom and liberty.

The freedom to pursue happiness in our lives by any legal means we so wish. The freedom to worship God, and the freedom to not worship any god.

We are the greatest nation that the world has ever seen.
Thank you Mr. President.
But most of all, thank you America.

Well said sir. I respect your position.

In what way? That's a meaningless statement as far as I can tell.

Wrong. It was done to keep one "Denomination" from having hold over the government.

The founding documents of the United States are explicitly secular - and for good reason.

Maybe that's because they are documents on founding a government and not a charter to found a new church?

Oh and guess what. The words "separation of church and state" are not in the Constitution.

Good point.

I never claimed they were. Care to provide evidence in defense of this being a "country founded on Christianity"?
