Yeah it would be a tough pill to swallow but between Garland and the unnamed centrist you're at least getting some justices who will swing with you on the really egregious stuff. Hopefully.

Also full disclosure I'm not a big abortion guy so there's that

I also think it's important to try to build some cooperation and sense of working with the other side. Unfortunately that means you have to take some L's in the short term but in the long run, and maybe I'm just naive, but maybe we can get back to actually working together to solve the country's problems rather than just slinging shite across the aisle 24/7 and cramming through things half the country despises.

Here is what we are working with on the Dems side.

quote:

"This is a very bad decision, well outside the mainstream of American political thought," she said of newly minted nominee Neil Gorsuch during a CNN town hall Tuesday. "It's a very hostile appointment."

You can not work with this...it is impossible.

Pelosi is an extremist and the DEMs were idiots not to support Ryan supplanting her as leader of their party

Her base is very upset, she has to speak to them. Hell if I were a Senator and I could make this deal I would make it but I would still talk tough to the media.

Maybe, but if we show them we are willing to compromise that may back them off of this crazy emotional path of destruction we are currently on.
I disagree with the nuclear option, but this mindset has failed Republicans time and time again.

Why do you believe that will be different this time?

I guess I'm hopeful that one party can continue to act like adults. Might be too much to ask.

Nope. Would not take it. When RBG goes, another conservative gets nominated. I want 7-2 for at least 15 years.
