GOP and DEMs agree to the following

Gorsuch replaces Scalia
Pryor replaces Kennedy

in exchange, the GOP agrees that Garland replaces RBG

would you take this deal to avoid political chaos and the nuclear option?

Then we will forever spiral further into political chaos and eventual gridlock.

The next time Liberals have power they will do all that is required to make conservative lives hell.

They have no leverage NOW. That will change and we will all regret it.

Conservatives are supposed to be the party of logic, lets not devolve into the party of emotion. Emotion vs. emotion will get us nowhere.

That would be a win/win. Garland is much better than RBG, (of course a homeless man I saw this morning is better as well).

They'll do it regardless.

This is correct; there's no way to put that genie back into the bottle

This is also correct.

Do you REALLY believe the Dems would keep their word on anything? Dafuq?

So basically replacing RBG with a Kennedy and Kennedy with a Thomas/Alito? It would shift the pendulum, but I'm greedy.

yup

if the GOP literally goes nuclear over this, when the DEMs get power they'll go super nuclear and just pull an FDR and pass a law to expand the court so they can pack it with liberals to offset these "wins"

According to my math, that's about a Net +1 for the good guys when all is said and done

Gorsuch = Scalia
Garland = Kennedy
Pryor >>>>>> RBG

Not bad, but I want moar!!

If you think this will not happen anyway, then you are supremely naive.

You can jump on this opportunity and have a super majority for the rest of my lifetime. It's the perfect storm right now for conservatives.

Maybe, but if we show them we are willing to compromise that may back them off of this crazy emotional path of destruction we are currently on.

If we frick them royally, we are assured that they will do whatever they can to repay the favor.

Compromising on this issue doesn't harm us that badly. RBG being replaced by Merrick who is more moderate might be a good thing in general.
