“I know that the power, size and weight of Hungary is much smaller than that of the financial speculator, George Soros, who is now attacking Hungary,” Orbán said.

“Despite ruining the lives of millions of European with his financial speculations, being penalized in Hungary for speculations, and who is an openly admitted enemy of the euro, he is so highly praised that he is received by the EU’s top leaders,” he said.

“There can be no special privileges, and no one may stand above the law – not even George Soros’s people,” he said.

Through his organisations in Hungary, and hidden from the public gaze, Orbán said, “George Soros is spending endless amounts of money to support illegal immigration.”

“To pursue his interests he pays a number of lobbying organisations operating in the guise of civil society. He maintains a regular network, with its own promoters, its own media, hundreds of people, and its own university.”

“I believe that George Soros must not be underestimated: he is a powerful billionaire of enormous determination who, when it comes to his interests, respects neither God nor man,” he said.

“Our position is clear: we do not want, and do not think it is in accordance with the founding treaties of the Union, to settle migrants in our country in a mandatory way,” he said. “The decision on who we live with can only be made by the Hungarian citizens.”

The Prime Minister said it is important to note that “George Soros and his NGOs want to transport one million migrants to the EU per year. He has personally, publicly announced this programme and provides a financial loan for it. You could read this yourselves.”

“We reject this,” Orbán said. “We do not want to lose the right of national ratemaking for public utilities, because we fear that this would increase the burdens of the people and once again lead to drastic price increases, from which Hungarian families have suffered enough.

Europe is terminal. It's too late now. Soros/Merkel won. But it's nice to hear a voice in the wilderness now and again to remind us that it once existed.

Didn't Soros already crush the Hungarian economy a number of years ago, or was that somewhere else?

Since most of the people he was addressing are likely on Soros' payroll, nothing will come from this.

I didn't see this before posting.

quote:

“We talk clearly and unambiguously, so everyone can understand, even if we know that this may not appeal to everyone,” he said. “We on the other hand are irritated by the restrained political language, unable to name things for what they are, that has become widespread in European public life nowadays.”

I believe the man is simply saying

Soros must be the richest many in history since he's able to spend such large amounts of money--all over the world--yet is still a billionaire.

I mean if his financial support can be much larger than a nation with a 265 billion dollar GDP (PPP), then still have enough power to influence a bunch of other nations with billions left over, then Forbes needs to update their richest people estimates.

It's like a new Cold War but without borders and even specific nation-states, more like ideals and power mongers.

Good to see light being shed in the evil machinations of Soros.

It's not just the money in Soros's bank account, but it's the influence he's developed over a frightening number and type of people. If that could be valued, he would be unrivaled in worth.

George Soros is practically a Bond villain.

His combination of evil and power is of a magnitude that only comes around once in several generations.

He very well may go down in history as the pivotal person that destroyed Western civilization in Europe as we currently know it.

Maybe, but the irony is that he's elicited so much fear in his opposition, that they'll blame him for anything (like saying Soros was behind Assad being blamed for chemical attack!, and it diverts their attention for the actual issue and minimizes their own influence.

A half a billion dollars will buy a lot of politicians, bureaucrats, protesters, lobbyists, and journalists. Remember, democrats carry the socialism water for free. They only have to be paid to ignore and downplay the destruction that socialism and illegal immigration brings.

I personally think the narratives regarding the Koch's and Soros are largely fear-mongering, but the Koch's share similar values as my own, and Soros does not, so I like them better.
