How would you respond to this democratic abortion argument?

quote:

Now, we all know how deeply the issue of abortion hits people -- in both parties. It's hard. It's sensitive and personal, and there are no easy answers. But even if we are divided over the question of when life begins, one thing we should agree on is this: Vulnerable children outside the womb deserve at least as much focus and care as those not yet born. Shouldn't those concerned about the lives of the unborn be equally concerned about the lives of the recently born?

quote:

On one side, people should be prosecuted if they do anything to harm the fetus, but once on the outside, sorry kid, whatever happens happens. You're on your own.

quote:

Can you be pro-life and vote to cut funding that supports the life of a child? At the state level GOP governors are cutting the child protection workers who handle child abuse and neglect cases -- you know, those awful public employees who must have caused the financial crisis. Programs that would benefit at-risk children outside the womb are all on the chopping block.

I am, because I don't believe child care is not the responsibility of Government.

Other than your two parents of course.

You need to work harder if you want to be a successful troll.

We all make mistakes but it is still our responsibility to fix the ones we make. Don't screw if you can't support a kid. Don't drive drunk if you don't want to get fricked in the arse in prison when you kill someone.

Idiotic reasoning. The anti-abortion people are against KILLING the child. And this author wants to equate that to paying for child care specialists? It is beyond idiotic.

I agree, the author (and democrats) are putting a price tag on a human being. I thought democrats stopped pricing people after the civil war, but I guess not.

I appreciate the input, but the topic is the relationship, or lack thereof, between pro lifers and child welfare programs.

the answer for most people is to ignore it.

If people would go to abortion clinics & offer to pay rent etc while a woman can't work, & then pay for child care & diapers once the child is born we might actually save babies from abortions.

I've said this once and I'll say it again, abortion is all about when you consider life beginning.

If you don't think life begins till the child/fetus is viable on its on outside of the mothers body, then abortion is whatever and everyone should be able to do up until that point.

If you think life begins at the moment of conception or shortly after, then abortion is the killing of an innocent person and anyone who aborts is a child killer.

And then anywhere in between there. I'm not taking a side, but you obviously think life begins when a fetus is viable whereas others on here think it begins at conception and everywhere in between. We don't know who is right or wrong, but this argument always boils down to when "life" begins not a woman's right oddly.

re: How would you respond to this democratic abortion argument?
You are speaking in belief vs. Truth

Fact: A fetus from a human mother is a human life...and in many cases can be cut from the mother and cared for just as a birth that came to term.

The only argument is should a mother have a right to terminate her child. Personally, it may be a good idea to extend that courtesy to both parents and until the child is 16.

There is no difference between the two as both are a single human life, and their child. Give the liberals time, I'm sure they'll come around to killing children after they're born for convenience.
