You guys have to do something about that count. She has got to go. Harris county is going in the wrong direction.

I have been trying to figure that as well.

Houston has a very large Vietnamese diaspora community, but almost all of them were anti-VC.

Lots of folks in West U are insulated from the real world. Don’t see how Dora the Explorer doesn’t win. Damn shame.

Jesus Christ on a crutch how old are some of you people? Have you not seen the pictures of Jane Fonda during the height of the Vietnam war posing on top of a North Vietnamese Army anti-aircraft gun?

Do your counties/parishes not have a chief executive? What the heck substantive difference does the title make? Hell, why don’t the coonasses is just rename their parishes as “counties“ like normal Americans?

In Louisiana there are different types of local parish/county government. So let me put on my Louisiana History to the test.

The main older form of government in smaller parishes is the police jury system where the parish is divided into districts and a police juror is elected. The police jurors elect a police jury president that acts like a pseudo parish president that is a police juror. Each police juror is responsible for their district and can communicate directly with parish workers depending on how the parish government departments are setup.

Alternatively, parish governments can select a home rule government with a parish wide elected full time Parish president and district elected part time parish council members. In most cases, the council members have to go through the parish president’s office to communicate to parish workers hence why they are part time. They just make decisions for the board as an elected body.

Most larger parishes have the home rule charter and a council form of government, but there are exceptions like Lake Charles and Calcasieu parish.

Some parishes even opt for a consolidated government which combines the functions of the parish president and mayor of largest city in one position. And council members are elected by district and vote on city and parish issues regardless if they represent portions of the urban service district or not. See Baton Rouge, New Orleans, Houma, and Lafayette.

Hildago has admitted she's probably going to jail for manipulating open bid contracts towards her supporters.

So is a county judge in Texas equivalent to a parish president here in LA? I am confused. Her position is called a judge but she's making decisions for Harris County...
