Gay people didn't let discrimination stop the from becoming, on average, wealthier than most groups. They don't need government help.

Yeah, but how much MORE wealthy would they have been if we had not been such a hateful country? That is the question. We need to get an economist on this to throw out a number.
Think about the marriage benefit of filing joint taxes?
Think about how much inheritance was lost from Gay millionaires not being able to pass on their estates to their Gay lovers? How many Gay lovers could sue estates?
Think about how much emotional damage was caused because people knew that if they "came out" that they would lose their jobs?
How much is the military on the hook for for every person that they discharged for being gay? Or for all who were not promoted? Lots of money there.
Seriously, though. A case could be made based on the logic of the past.
The Gay Rights Movement claims to be the new Civil Rights Movement. After legal equality was reached, Civil Rights leaders went after economic advantages and payback. By what logic should the Gay community not do the same?

If we poured a couple million into showing homosexuality is a choice I would approve

By all means, they should try to do so.
Start by hitting up Jesse Jackson's Rainbow / PUSH for not hiring a representative amount of gay employees. Then sue Al Sharpton for talking about how all the "greek homos" stole everything from the black man.

ISWYDT.
The truth is, billions have been spent trying to show that homosexuality IS NOT a choice and that it is in born. They cannot prove that at all. There is no genetic proof that homosexuality is anything MORE than a choice. If so, it would be shouted from the rooftops daily and the debate would have ended long ago.
By the way, I am not saying that it IS a choice. I get that certain people have really strong desires that other people don't have. I am just saying that the research has gone in the opposite direction of what you have stated here.

Statistically, gays on the whole have lower BMIs, lower rates of cardiovascular disease and diabetes, more disposable income, a higher standard of living, higher educational status and lower rates of unemployment than the general population.
They're doing just fine.

I guess it would be poetic justice if we sent each one of them a $3 dollar bill.

At least in 1965 if you were gay you could get a mortgage if you kept it to yourself.
No such luck for black people.
Also, my thought is you think you're smart, but you make posts like you're dumb.

No it hasn't.
Perhaps if you spent less time starting moronic threads and more time education yourself, you would avoid this daily embarrassment.

If it is a really big number, I might have to make plans to come out of the closet.

Do you have to prove you're actually gay before you get a check in the mail?

Ok. I'll spend more time education myself.
The truth is, I think that the approach of the Gay Rights movement to create a moral equivalency with the Civil Rights movement is ludicrous. But, that is what THEY did and liberals like you never called them on it. I actually think that I made a pretty good point. If it makes you and Tigah in ATL mad, then I have probably accomplished what I set out to accomplish.
For the record, what this nation did to African Americans was deplorable. I have no problem with trying make that right economically in many ways. But, I do have a problem with the Gay Rights movement trying to piggy back off the Civil Rights movement the way they have. My question involves how far they take it and when they will believe that they have reached equilibrium.

As for the threads I start, I get tired of the same old griping and complaining and like to look at things from different angles. I don't see a problem with it. You should probably engage the argument, since YOU are so smart, and not get so angry.
