I am sure that Trump didn't like getting surprised by the special counsel. Rosenstein stood up to Trump over getting the blame for Comey's firing. Just a few minutes ago Trump suggested that Rosenstein wrote his memo in reaction to Comey's testimony, but Trump threw in a "I don't know, you will have to ask him."

I think Rosenstein is gone before July.

Trump has only replaced 50 of 5,500 positions that are Obama hold overs, they'd better ramp up the pink slip copying machine and fast.

Firing Rosenstein would be a deal breaker for me.

No need to fire.

He just needs Sessions to isolate him on the inside.

Mueller was a good choice for a number of reasons. My concern is he holds a long term friendship with Comey. I am concerned that friendship will soften criticism.

IMO Comey's actions as FBI Director should never have occurred, and should never be repeated. There will be no collusion demonstrable in this investigation, obviously. So hopefully something positive will come from this chapter, and hopefully that will involve an appropriate excoriation of Comey, despite the Mueller-Comey friendship..

I think Trump is impulsive to his own detriment, and is nowhere near as intelligent as he thinks. But even Forrest Gump is smart enough to know that's political suicide.

It's going to be politically very difficult to fire anyone right now, let alone rosenstein.

With that said, I can see him doing it and creating another wave of hysteria.

I think if the russia thing settles down in the next week or two, then rosenstein is safe until we get another big leak.
