How is the income tax legal?

Punishment for those that work. A tax on less than 50% of the adults because they have a job. This is the most excruciatingly unfair tax. Eliminate ALL income tax and you get my vote. Consumption taxes are the only fair taxes. Eliminate the IRS in the process

It was only going to be used a few years to pay for WWI and it would only effect the top 1%.

100% onboard with eliminating the IRS for any purpose related to individual income taxes. But, the plan has to have some protection for those older. By that I mean you can't screw them on paying income tax over their lives, and then tax then with a big consumption tax in retirement. Not sure I've hard a serious plan to address that. Could be they start it for anybody under 50 (any age that makes sense) and phase out the IRS. That of course has a downside with the corrupt DEM Party. IN short, when someone comes out with a real plan that works, I would support it. The IRS's control over individuals has to change.

Just goes to show how smart the Founding Fathers were not to include it. I guess they did just start that big old war over tax to begin with though and realized how it could get out of hand.

It made the entire congress into a glorified House of Representatives and diluted the power of the states.
It is the states who created the federal government. The states are prime, not the other way around.
