People that live in the country are exposed on a daily basis to the world, the big cities and liberal views, by watching TV shows and the news.

People in Silicon Valley are only exposed to small towns, blue collar workers, factories, etc., when they look down there noses at them.

These people are already ensuring a second term for Trump. They don't get it!

Dumbass prog. thinks if you don't live in a megalopolis that you're "rural."

I'd say almost every American outside of the person who lives in Hollywood, Washington DC area or Manhattan has a better grip on reality than those in Silicon Valley

Few people live in actual rural areas. Even the ones that do, live very close to medium sized cities and are exposed to the world via TV, internet, etc. Some of the smartest, most worldly people I know come from small town Louisiana.

I think a larger percentage of the right exposes themselves to opposing views than the opposite. For example a right wing guy living in middle America is far more likely to read the NYT or WaPo than a left wing guy in the Northeast or California is to read Brietbart. Libs lost this one in large part because of their collective scorn of and often outright refusal to entertain opposing viewpoints.

Rural Americans aren't out in the streets trying to tell people they know what's best for them.

I've lived in both areas.

Grew up in rural MO, now live in SoCal.

Both groups, by in large, live in their respective bubbles surrounded by group think, enclosed in an echo chamber.

Neither group actually listens to what the other has to say, they are all just waiting to speak.

We could do without anything that comes out of Silicon Valley. Can they do without the food that comes out of rural America?

I like how he thinks people living in rural areas are all farmers. Shows a lot of knowledge and perspective.

I think he has a pretty good point.

I grew up waaayy out in the country and later moved to the suburbs of a big city. The "city people" were far more worldly and informed.
