Don't forget that he was one of the first to come out in support of Trump (when it wasn't cool) when he began his campaign.

How long has he been a Senator? And before that was the US Attorney. Dude has lived in the status quo and halls of power for 30 years.

He read the tea leaves a bit earlier than others in that Trump and his populism was coming down the tracks and he got on the train out of convenience, but he's always been suckling at the teet of power.

Plus he just looks like a squirrelly, smarmy little fricker.

I can't argue with any of this.

I just feel betrayed. Not only by Sessions but the entire GOP.

The GOP has been in a civil war since the first Tea Party rally in 2010. This isn't anything new or unique to Trump. You've had two pretty clear factions for the better part of a decade now.

You guys touch on it with the uniparty stuff, but the guys you call RINOs have more in common with the Democrats than they do the Freedom Caucus. I expected the RINO group to work with Trump where their interests overlapped, but I never expected them to cede total control of the party. And the way he's acted, I'm not sure if Trump can or wants to be the ideological buoy the rest of the GOP follows.

Very decent chance we have gridlock solely because of the GOP, at least until the midterms.

Sessions is essentially in charge of the border and immigration and is doing a good job stopping the floodgates. Stoners can stay mad, idgaf.

Where the GOPe differs with Trump are the following:

1. The Wall.
2. Repeal and replace.
3. Wars.
4. Trade.
5. Infrastructure.
6. Immigration.

Where they have something in common:
1. Taxes.
2. Judges.

I'm the first stoner to post in this thread.

Everyone else is stone sober, and still realizing Sessions is awful. Better late than never, I guess.

I generally agree with those lists. Disagree slightly on infrastructure in that there may be a disagreement on the aggregate to spend, but everyone loves bringing back some pork to their district. That one should be relatively easy to get through.

Also disagree on taxes. Most Freedom Caucus folks are backed by the middle class. RINOs get the wealthy elite and corporate lobbyist money. Those two will be diametrically opposed based on what we've seen put out by Trump so far on tax reform. I don't think that one will be as easy as I hope.

But that's low hanging fruit. That stuff is easy. He needs to enforce law and order in DC. He needs to change that culture.

How about he start with IRS targeting?

I'm glad I was busy this morning and didn't get to watch his presser. He seems to have pissed everyone off.

Justice Department to Take On Affirmative Action in College Admissions
Nytimes

Cracking down on sanctuary cities and trying to strip federal money from them:
Fox news

Sessions: frick OFF, WE'RE FULL
https://www.foxnews.com/politics/2017/04/12/sessions-border-is-not-open-please-dont-come.html

Sessions: Virtually no one from the Dominican Republic has any useful skills that would benefit us.

No more embezzlement and misappropriation of public funds to funnel money to ACORN, La Raza, and other "why haven't you cut off your son's penis yet" type groups.
https://www.nytimes.com/2017/06/09/us/politics/settlements-sessions-attorney-general.html

choice quotes from this based shitlord:

"Countless Americans would be alive today, and countless loved ones would not be grieving today if these policies of sanctuary cities were ended."

"The American people should be the one to decide which direction the Supreme Court will go."

"The elites have become international, and they've ceased to have a primary loyalty to the nation-state."

"The proven method for saving the lives of innocent Americans is not disarming them. The proven method for saving the lives of innocent Americans is to arrest, prosecute, convict and jail criminal offenders, especially armed career criminals illegally using guns. This is the way to reduce gun violence."

Now Sessions is threatening to subpoena prestitutes in order to drain the swamp.

Doesn't seem too terrible to me.

Thank you, Jeff Beauregard Sessions, my AG, for upholding the law.
