they're siding with "modern" or "progressive" muslims who are ok with homos. the problem is obviously that conservative muslims insist that liberal muslims have compromised the faith. technically, both sides are correct because islamic scripture is theologically convoluted enough to allow for both liberal and conservative interpretations. of course, american political libs say that the progressive muslims are the true muslims because - wait for it - "millions of peaceful muslims can't be wrong."
well guess what? the jihadis are willing to chop your head off to prove they're right (right after they sodomize you).
i just think it's so typically arrogant for a contemporary american lib to step into a centuries old internecine debate among muslims and declare by fiat the progressives are the winner without knowing one iota of quran or hadith. i have challenged these people to watch the debates between islamic scholars/imams on the subject of violent jihad and prove that the khawarij interpretation is wrong/apostate. not one of them has. go figure.
and then they attach the stupid notion that jihadi muslims and christians are two sides of the same coin. why, the hate from those westboro baptists is actually more dangerous than the real life murdering muslims and global warming put together.

Dissapointed with the replies, I would have thought by page two the poli board would have the answer.
Simply put all democratic motives can be traced to one thing.
They know the majority white working class will not agree with them so they pander to any and all who are not the white working class no matter how off base or conflicting they are to get the non white working class vote. They also could care less the outcome of said pandering to the country.
Simple as that.

With liberals in the USA, the overwhelming cause of their affliction is Christianity (but white males are moving up rapidly on the list). Christianity is hated by Muslims, and it advocates against perversion. Bingo! Gotta love those groups!
So the radical Muslims and the pervs win every single time. Despite the fact that Muslims despise that perversion even worse than Christianity does.
You will see the same behavior in their newly found disdain for white people. White liberals stand up for the most militant elements within minority communities because they want a quick end to 'white privilege'. Yet they don't seem to grasp that once the militants win, white liberals would be the next in line to go. They just cant seem to constrain their hatred in such an obviously self-destructive mindset

This is the root if the problem with the left. I have read and watched many things about various religions. However, you gave me an idea.
I will do some reading regarding the doctrines of Islam to get a better understanding of the two sides.
All I know is that the Sunni and Shia are typical fighting
