Which is why liberals hate ANY non-public education at the K-12 age bracket.

Their tournament is July 27-28. Tour package is $1,300 but I don't think it covers the initial flight from the U.S. to Beijing.

I'm still willing to go if my partner goes along. But he's still too scared.

The entry was smaller last year than previous. Down to 5 countries from the previous 8. But the field is always about a dozen to 15 golfers.

A guy from New Zealand won last year. Previous winners were all from Europe.

A few tips:
* Impress babes with a shite load of fiat money sporting your mug.
* Put a bowl over your head and trim around the edges.
* Sport some really keen looking no-frills garb.

Become the sole authority in the distribution of food in a starving country.

Actually, it's why homeschoolers don't want a public education. They can't stand that their children might absorb a diversity of attitudes from other people. It's easier to instill a dogma when your victim is in isolation, not when he's out experiencing his neighbors.

Uh, Rex, home schooled do MUCH better on standardized tests than kids in public schools. They totally dominate the national spelling bee.

Last year I judged the VFW extemporaneous speaking contest. We had no idea where the kids went to school. At the awards assembly the winners were announced as 'home schooled'. And this was Shreveport where I wouldn't think many HS aged kids were home schooled.

That wasn't the question. They're also far more likely to be religious nutcases, too... you know, of the type that think a man walking the earth can be a god.

Well, the students at Jesuit-New Orleans must tend to be nutcases since they are mostly Christians. Students at Isidore Newman must be nutcases since they are mostly Jewish and believe in God.

Is that somehow worse than HS graduates that can barely read, write, or do basic math?

By the way, I'm not in the least bit surprised that homeschooled kids would fare the best in spelling bees. You see, rote memorization and indoctrination rather than critical thinking skills are the goals of such an education.

Uh, so you think public schools are where critical thinking skills are taught?

If you had the ability to have them killed instantly if they didn't worship you like he does, you'd be worshipped also.

No, there's got to be more to it than that.

It might be the hair. Do you think his hair-do is his secret?

More so than in right-wing and fundy home schools, to be sure. It's important to note, also, that rightwingers are the first and loudest to object any time initiatives for critical thinking are proposed, like new maths within Common Core.

Rex, not even public school teachers will tell you that they teach critical thinking skills in public schools -- largely because they don't know the meaning of the term "critical thinking."

BUT THAT'S NOT THEIR FAULT -- I blame the public school system.

As a matter of fact these people know what's going on.

More and more phones and other technology are smuggled across the border.

This was on yesterday, and was fascinating.
