If you want a slightly over minimum wage job watching security cameras in Vegas, you better go memorize everyone with a pending civil suit against every hotel. Then kick those frickers out.

The frick? These guys don't have a encyclopedic knowledge of everyone who has sued a hotel in Vegas.
I think people asking these questions can primarily be grouped into two groups: (1) Those looking for some gotcha to support some conspiracy that will change to fit whatever they think is a gotcha, and (2) those (which u think is LG) who want such a terrifying random event to appear less random, and therefore predictable, and finally, preventable.

The problem is that hindsight and confirmation bias really requires us to ignore what we know and try to see it from the perspective of not knowing.

Right. And may as well been known to the staff if he frequented the place, correct?

Not unless it is brought to their attention by management. Like, so and so is planning on an extended stay, so knowing what he did at the other hotel, we may want to keep an eye out.

No. For bringing a false lawsuit against another hotel/casino.

Casino hotel "security" is 95% focused on people cheating/stealing from the CASINO. A guy making 3-4 trips to his HOTEL ROOM with a suitcase over 3-4 days is not going to trigger shite.
It’s crazy how many people are saying they don’t understand how a guy could bring all those weapons up to his suite. I think you could walk back and forth from a sketchy van to your suite with suitcases 8 hours a day for 3 straight days and there’s a good chance nobody would say anything. People are pretty oblivious and they generally assume the 65 year old guy staying in the corner suite isn’t plotting to kill everyone.

I want to know how and why. Those are the only two questions that matter. But since our country is so dug in politics wise I’m not sure we’ll ever get clear answers.

In his luggage. This seems like it was a remarkably easy attack to carry out. Someone could probably carry out a similar attack tomorrow in NYC if they really wanted to. Fortunately people generally aren’t that sadistic.

Unfortunately taking out a ton of people is very easy to do these days. There really isnt anything we can do to prevent it.

I dont think he does, but I woyld be curious why to hold on to them for an extended amount of time if there are no other suspects. Obviously that takes time to figure out.

Personally, I just dont get the motive for this.

No telling. None of us are FBI, this was a HUUUGE massacre, and somewhere along the line, someone probably helped this guy or someone fricked up big.

Somehow, this guy got all those weapons/ammo into the hotel for 3+ days and NO ONE noticed anything? Not even a maid? That plus the explosives he had.

Chances are someone DID help him and they dont want to let them know they're onto them/scare the public more and 2, the video is probably being withheld for good reason, as much as id like to see SOMETHING.

Exactly. A person operating with all of their whits could probably walk out of their house and kill 20 people within an hour if they chose to do so. Luckily most of the people committed to killing people are not all there. It’s rare that you see a completely “sane” person plot to kill as many people as they can with no real aparent motive. Maybe these are the people that would have been serial killers back in the 60s and 70s.

I can tell you this, that hotel has every hallway and entrance covered with cameras. Every floor, every hall.

The people wondering this have never been to Vegas (or any major hotel in any major city) - Once he's checked in, he goes down with a luggage cart and brings up what he wants. A couple of golf bags or dress suit bags and he has everything he wants. Nobody bats an eye, and why would they? This sort of luggage goes up EVERY day.

I'll add this. I go to Vegas fairly often. When you are checking in (with ID) place a folded 50 underneath your ID. Ask if any upgrades are available. That 50 will disappear faster than Penn and Teller could do it, and you will go from a room to a suite.
