They'll blame conservatives for their losses, which may be true.

I hope it is.

I am sure these Hollywood people are all liberal and will not figure out that Biden printing money affects their jobs too.

speaking as one of these "Hollywood people" you are so gleefully deriding...No, we are not all liberal. No, we did not all vote for Biden. I lost my job at a studio due to a re-organization. Many of the support people are just trying to go to work, do their jobs, and take care of their families. You're talking about people who are assistants, servers, caterers, drivers and a plethora of people in the service industry.

The Hollywood elites like to hob-nob with other elites. They vote for Dems protect themselves. They know the more money they give, the more they can control. They hate Trump because he'd just as soon tell them to frick off.

When it comes to pushing an agenda in a film, the people controlling that are truly at the very top. They are the studio heads looking to score points with those who are going to fund their projects and then bring future projects to them. It's all about making money. The more money you make the studio, the more they are willing to let you have your own way.

When you are a staff writer, the words may be yours, but the ideas are someone else's. The same for front line production assistants and day-players.

What you are starting to see with the public backlash, is the studios taking a hit to their bottom lines. Even though they may or may not have a change in their ideology, if you cost them money, you will quickly fall out of favor.

I'm not surprised. They chose to preach The Message in more and more strident terms at a time when independent individuals can bypass all the gatekeepers via the internet, and if people like what they produce they will watch. An hour on youtube or listening to a podcast is an hour not spent watching Prime or Netflix.

It’s the ripples in the industry still from the Covid shutdown
More than likely very little of that and a lot of the residual effect from the writers' strike.

Am I supposed to feel sorry for these liberals who go on strike all the time?

I actually canceled everything about 2 weeks ago and don't miss any of it.

No more Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, HBO Max, Paramount +

I now just have about 50 channels with local news.

I find myself watching regular YouTube more than anything these days
