The annual Presidential Greatness Project Expert Survey was conducted from Nov. 15 and Dec. 31 of last year, and included the responses of 525 historians and political science scholars.

quote:

When defining “greatness,” scholars think beyond what they view as a “good” president, said Justin Vaughn, a professor of political science at Coastal Carolina and one of the survey’s organizers. “A great president is one who expanded the institution of the president, who presided over a growth in American power or who led the country through a crisis — those types of things,” Vaughn said. “It goes beyond whether or not you agreed with the president’s politics, or whether or not you think he was ‘good.’” When offering their ratings, the scholars were given no instructions, other than to give them a numerical rating for their “overall greatness.”

The rankings

You can tell the progressive bias in how they’ve pumped up Obama and Grant while voted down Jackson, Polk, and Coolidge.

John Adams too low!

I give 1970's POTUS some slack
(Nixon + Ford + Carter)

From 1980 on, all should get penalties for growing the debt.

From a global standpoint FDR probably should be #1 and from a national one for the WPA

IKE might could be in the Top 5 but glad he at least made the Top 10

JFK for the moon goal, might be the last POTUS that united us for a greater goal.

Most historians really love warmongering, government growing presidents.

Those historians don't get demonized and ridiculed nearly enough in society.

Presidential Greatness Project?

You know it's a buncha Rino Bill Kristol, Bill Barr and Michael Steele types mixed in with some hand picked Gaslight Media propaganda news hacks

I definitely had a better chance of getting that ranking right just throwing cards with names written on them and picking them up in random order.

I completely overlooked Biden on that list. This list should be taken as serious as an NFL mock draft in September.

Republicans overrate Reagan to the point of absurdity, but having Obama or Biden over him is ludicrous.

A list put together by any random 5th grader would be better
