According to you. There's no logical reason to call it objectively more abnormal, though.

They are nothing like transgenderism which is not a choice but rather mental issues they have no control over. You have control of obesity and style of clothes. Not comparable.

Fine then, but I expect you to use the same reasoning when dealing with anyone who struggles with mental illness or disability.

If we're going the mental issue route, do you suggest we make sure to ostrasize autistic and bipolar people?

Ostrasize? No.

Label it what it is - a serious mental condition - and encourage major medical intervention. But because Transgenderism has been grouped with homosexuality (for what reason I do not know), it is supposed to be celebrated as a lifestyle.

Let me know the next time a newspaper runs an article touting the virtues of a high school student being bipolar.

It's also only 17 so it still has C&B as well as ever growing breasts. Guess it can walk in the locker room and tell the other girls to "Play Ball!"

What major medical intervention would you suggest? The only currently approved treatment is a sex change which, I presume, you find very, very icky.

Untreated bipolar people tend to lash out violently towards themselves and others. Transgendered people do not. Not to mention there is actual medication that controls bipolar disorder.

Studies have come out about people that have had sex change operations (which are actually not true because you are still either an XY or XX) are usually just as miserable and often times moreso afterwards. The female-male operation doesn't work because the penis falls off so most are bearded ladies.

Psychological counseling and psychiatric intervention.

Violent outbursts are not the sole determinate of mental health issues.

Have you read the list on Facebook about the gender options from the LGBT activists. The worst one to me was "Gender Fluid" and I wonder if you buy that in the shampoo aisle or the automotive aisle?

That isnt the point. The point is that there are no other approved treatments.

We cant "treat" them anymore than we can treat gay people. We dont understand what makes them the way they are and thus cant really do much about it.

This has been tried, in many forms, with both the transgendered and gays. It doesnt work and only serves to further their lack if self esteem by reaffirming how abnormal they are. It actually increases suicide rates in these populations.

No but it is the reason we dont like them remaining untreated. Transgendered people arent hurting anything but the sensibilities of others which isnt a crime.

It's still listed in the DSM. The reason it hasn't been removed is with it on the DSM, it is an "illness" and insurance must pay for the hormones and surgery. If it is removed, no more surgeries being paid for by the insurance companies.

If its removed then you dont get to call it a mental disorder anymore and demand treatment.

It goes both ways.

Completely different things. One revolves around physical attraction, the other deals with an emotional/mental projection that contradicts a biological truth.

I could constantly feel that I have blue eyes, but that doesn't change the biological fact that they're brown.

Treatment doesn't have to be with the goal of getting rid of the condition. You are putting forth a very narrow argument.

Since it is a "mental disorder" then don't chastise those of us that will continue to say they are fricked up in the brain and I have told some to their faces that they just mutilated their bodies and fricked up their hormones which they will have major health issues as they age because of it.

It is counterproductive. It doesnt help them AT ALL in most cases.

BTW, self-esteem is the dumbest reason to give. They need to stop with the pity party and fantasy world to better their self-esteem.

Where have I disagreed?

Im just asking you masters of the human mind what you propose we do to "fix" them and Im not getting anything other than try and talk them out if it.

Here's a few suggestions;
Since he is physiologically male and there are dress codes in school, make him dress like a male.
Since he is physiologically a male, make him use the men's bathroom.
Since he Is physiologically a male, make him play sports on a male team. This isn't difficult.

Ban transgenders from girls sports due to an unfair competitive advantage it would give the girls team since transgenders still have a male's physique which is way stronger than women.
