I actually had a well known radiologist business tell me they won't accept Humana anymore; so I had to get my CT Scan elsewhere.

You don't understand how this is supposed to work.

The middle class is supposed to supply tax revenue to the federal government so they can cover the insurance company's losses. That way the insurance company doesn't have to raise insurance rates on the middle class.

Bamaatl will be along shortly to explain further.

I had Humana through the Obamacare marketplace for 2 years. Had to see a different primary care doc and go to a different pharmacy because they didn't take Humana. Glad I was able to switch healthplans last year

Denied.....

Then when the insures get out of Obamacare customers will be left with only alternatives other than Obamacare effectively negating Obamacare.

Solution: don't approve the rate hikes.

Interesting Fox News left this part out in their reporting on this:

quote:

Florida regulators said most of the average rate hike — 31 percentage points — came from standard plans sold on the ACA exchange at healthcare.gov. Insurers raised rates for those plans due to the political uncertainty that has plagued the healthcare debate, specifically whether the Trump administration will stop paying subsidies that lower out-of-pocket costs for low-income Americans.

quote:

Penny Shaffer, market president for Florida Blue, the state’s largest health insurer, said the company will raise premiums for ACA exchange plans by 33.5 percent on average next year.

That’s more than Florida Blue had requested in June, when the company assumed that the cost sharing subsidies would be paid and proposed rate hikes ranging from 9 to 24 percent for 2018 ACA plans. But Florida insurance regulators said insurers had to account for the potential loss of cost sharing subsidies, forcing most insurers to raise premiums.

Its almost like they are a hyper-partisan organization that plays lose with facts, if it will benefit their partisan advocacy agenda that they accuse all their competitors of engaging in.

Interesting. In your view, rate hikes are different if they're paid indirectly by the citizens through the government instead of directly by the citizens?

It's almost like Obamacare can't stay afloat without digging deeper into the pockets of taxpayers.

They should have written a line or two about a money tree in the original bill. That would have solved everything.

Point being, ACA will be uber successful if enough money is thrown at it.

But, a moldy donut store would thrive with enough money thrown at it year after year.

Despite the higher premiums, Florida Blue members who receive a premium subsidy are less likely to find their coverage unaffordable if the cost sharing payments go away. That’s because the premium subsidy is pegged to the monthly rate for a standard plan — the higher the monthly rate, the higher the subsidy.

Wealth transfers harm the middle- who knew?

The federal subsidies for ACA exchange consumers represent a significant source of money for Florida insurers. In 2016, federal payments of cost sharing reductions, which are paid directly to insurers, totaled $1.3 billion in Florida.

You could say all that about the tax subsidized employer health insurance market, Medicare, Medicaid, the benefits from the EMTLA, and every one of the Republican ideas presented so far.

But we have had this discussion many times, so I suspect this is just a silly little virtue signal to play to the audience, like Springsteen going to the page of hits to give the audience what they want.

"Insurance premiums are rising at a rate slower than they were before ACA. ACA is very sound, just needs a few tweaks. muh, sabotage."

Say it all you want. The fact is that ACA needs more money to survive. That money has to be taken from someone.

Without government taking from others ACA implodes.

People don't even know how many places and how much is taken.

For instance, everyone's dental insurance premium (fully insured) is taxed so that money can be taken from one and given to another. There are more of course.

Apparently you are living in a fantasy world in which Obamacare no longer exists.
