Ok. Tell us how they are going to overcome Kerry v Dinh.

Read what I posted twice already in this thread. The SCOTUS will ultimately either uphold the ban or dodge the issue on a technicality that lets the ban take effect.

When the SCOTUS ruled on a procedural point last week, I told people not to celebrate and tat the decision was meaningless in the long run. Yet here we are with a bunch of people that clearly didn't bother to read at all about SCOTUS ruling from last week.

Fine then. Let Trump ignore the federal judge and force the SCOTUS to make a ruling.

I mean this is going to the SCOTUS whether Trump ignores it or not. The last decision was just deciding re previous case under the now superseded EO was moot.

So this is just a restart and the process started over?

Does the Supreme Court consider this a settled political question but the Democrats don't understand this or don't care and are gumming up the process for political gain?

I mean are you really acting like SCOTUS has not already given a whole bunch of indications on how they really feel about the president's power to issue such travel bans?

Trump will win at SCOTUS.

Basically.

The SCOTUS never mentioned political question. All they decided was that a lawsuit over the original EO is moot because the EO was superseded. They effectively gave no indication of how they will rule on this case.

I have basically agreed with that three times already.

Well don't let that stop us from ripping this renegade judge.

I haven't. I'm just laughing at people who read the headline last week then got upset when I told them it was a nothingburger.

Do you have any thoughts on the merits of Judge Watson's decision?

Haven't read the thing. I will probably give it a look tomorrow. It isn't particularly surprising given where the lower courts have landed so far, but this is all just foreplay before the SCOTUS probably blue balls everyone on a technicality.
