Likely an FBI agent.

I guess it is possible, but my question would be what could the FBI gain in 2000 by going to a relatively small to medium size apartment complex in Baton Rouge, LA and propositioning people to come to a Klan meeting? There were no Klansmen living in the complex I don't believe.....this guy certainly didn't live there.

I just don't see the usefulness of it for the feds.

I met Senator Byrd a couple of times in the 90s at dinners.

I met 2 in rural Georgia that claimed they were but couldn’t prove it. They were 2 ignorant sad young men. That was late 90s time frame after the klan had been dead almost 30 years.

Yes, as a child in the 1960's I saw them out on a rual highway that we took going down to Florida before the interstate system was built collecting donations like the Shriners do.

I saw them doing the same thing at the Douglasville, GA exit on I-20. It was causing a traffic jam and road hazard as black people were out of their cars and freaking the frick out.

Grew up in Selma from 77 to 95. You better believe I met a few and knew of others.

My grandfather was a member in Beaumont, Texas many years ago. He hated the KKK! He said if you were eligible to join (white, protestant), you joined or they would harass you. He described some of the things they did to non-members and it frightened me.

I wish he was alive so I could talk to him more. I have a lot more questions about it these days.

With idiots like you in this country its no wonder people resort to hiring illegal immigrants.....it's clear you're not qualified to do even the most menial (that's requiring no skill in case you were wondering) tasks.

I've been told a great-uncle on my mother's side was a member. My mother claimed to have driven past a rally on his farm property as a child. This was in rural SC in the late 1960's. I personally don't know anyone in the Klan.

Yes. The grandfather of one of the girls that I graduated high school with was in the KKK. He passed away years ago though.

I am 36 years old. Never in my life have I had a conversation with a person who claimed to be a part of or have ever been a part of the KKK. I have met true, ardent racists who were completely open about their contempt for other races. Yet none of them every said they were a part of or even supported the KKK

Did you expect them to be honest?

My granddad was born in 1898 and was orphanned at 5. Both of his parents had scarlet fever. He served in WW1 and was partially blinded by mustard gas.

I loved him dearly. He was very kind to me. He was so much nicer than my other grandpa. He was very supportive of women. My female cousin got her master's in Civil Engineering, and he was thrilled with how smart she was.

He was definitely racists though. My grandma was the shocking one who would embarrass us with things.

My kids don't understand how I could put up with that and still have good things to say about them, but I loved them. There was more to them then this flaw.

I dated a girl years ago whose father belonged to a group similar to the KKK. I had to sit and listen to all his racist garbage, because his daughter was fine as hell. I remember he said, "the only thing young black boys think about is sex." I had a hard time keeping from laughing because all I was thinking about was banging his daughter.

I’ve met Daniel Carver, the KKK guy that used to be a frequent guest on Howard Stern’s radio and TV shows.

Yea he must not have known much about young white boys if he figured their thoughts were any different.

I took pictures of David Duke once for a newspaper. That's the closest I've come that I know of.

Go to a mirror and say it 3 times and one will appear.

If it fails, say "Candyman" instead.

Yes. My best friend’s grandfather was in it. I remember being about 12 or 13 and seeing his old KKK robe and hat that was in a storage closet. He was already dead at that time.

I grew up in a mostly white rural Alabama in the early 70s. My mom's side of the family was not racist nor prejudice but my dad's side had a few that I would now consider racist. My dad would have been the closest to racist in our family but one night, I guess it would have been around 76 or 77 (I was around 6 or 7) we were going home from the closest town and ran into a road block. I remember thinking it was the police but after not seeing badges or anything I started to question what was going on. My dad turned around to the back seat and said it was the KKK. I had no clue as to what the KKK was so my mom started trying to explain it to me. I remember starting to cry about the whole thing and my dad said for me "don't to worry because we were white and they were looking for black people." I got to thinking that somewhere there was a family in a car with a black 6 year old boy the same age as myself that had to ride around in fear of being killed. I guess the more I thought about that the more it upset me and I talked to my dad about it and told him how it made me feel. From that point on I never heard my mom or dad say anything bad about anyone of a different race. They never thought about how something like that would make anyone else feel I guess or maybe just the thought coming from a six year old boy made them have a different perspective.

I am glad to say that I went on in life, went to college and worked in different parts of the country and made very close friends to this day that are black and Hispanic.

I read racist comments on here a lot and read comments that are not. What I wish people would do is put themselves in the place of how it things affect people of all color. I feel like we judge a color on the actions and words of a few but ALL of the people that are in my circle of a different color don't feel the same as those that are trying to tear the country apart.

I try to live by these words, John 13:35 "By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” If we all did we would be in a much better place in life.
