Would you say the bombing of the airfield and this most recent action were acts of war?

Do they fall under the authority to fight ISIS or is it something different?

Do you think Congress is willing to take up the argument and either condemn or authorize further actions, or simply step to the side and let the executive and pentagon do what it will?

Technically speaking, probably. We do have a duty under the UN to stop mass murder/genocide tho.

I expect Congress to remain spineless pussies who are more worried about getting reelected than they are about the welfare of the country.

Yes we have. The debate is whether those acts are authorize under international law and the UN

frick yes.

We've been bombing inside their territorial boundaries for the last 3 years.

Only reason it hasn't made news is because they're up to their ears in a rebellion and then ISIS.

Boundaries mean shite. Imagine another country was bombing California since 2014 while the capitol is in Washington and we haven't done anything about it. That's Syria.

Not saying I disagree with it. But yes, we have most definitely engaged in war against them in the classic sense of invading sovereign territory.

We haven't declared war since 1942. We have engaged in many acts of war since then. For the last 75 years, congress has sat by while the president does what they want with the military.

Congress agreed with the airfield.

Syrians attached forces we were supporting. If the truth gets out there were likely Americans embedded with these troops as advisors. So we were probably sending the message not to bomb troops we support in an effort to also protect American boots on the ground.

It's been in the planning since before 9/11.

If another country came over here and bombed a U.S. airfield would you consider it an act of war?

We have been looking for a reason to go into Syria for regime change for a long time. ISIS is our boogeyman.

We must appear to remain the "good guys" while we execute regime change in the area. So, no, Congress will do nothing to interfere.

Sorry, but after murdering and/or displacing millions in the Middle East invasion over the last 16 years, that's about the most ironic statement I've seen today.

I never said we executed the UN Charter effectively OR fairly, just that we have a duty to stop murder/genocide.

The engagement of a Syrian Air Force Su-22 over Syrian airspace? I'm not well versed in International Law, but common sense says yes.

We have committed acts of war against most of the nations on earth.

Maybe we should start with our own government.

Which has subsequently led to the growth of the deep state and MIC beyond control.

Congress failed in its duties to maintain checks and balances

And nothing helps stop mass murder like helping ISIS!
