Has the media ever made as big a deal out of a WH staff position?

Obama had at least 3 press secretaries and multiple chiefs of staff.
So did Bush and other presidents.
Had any press secretary ever been portrayed on SNL? Has any press secretary's house ever been staked out by reporters after he resigned?
Even Scaramucci's views on every topic are being dissected.
These people are the help. It appears the media is inventing intrigue.

Obama had 4 Sec of Def, yes that's right, 4! I'd rather keep the key positions like that in place aND trade a communications guy who was bumbling a little too much!

You may be right, but I haven't found it if so. Certainly no press secretary has been the star of a recurring skit.

The media obsession with any staffer stepping down or being fired fits the major narrative of the media in opposing Trump. Nope, it's not Russia. It's ...
CHAOS!!!!
This started right after he took office. The print media has at least 2 stories per day dealing with 'WH in total turmoil...'

Yes, it verifies their bias.
"See, I told you they were in turmoil."
But, Mr Reporter, all presidents have staff turnover and turmoil (and even hatred, rivalries and factions).
"But not like this. THIS is different."

In 7 months?

So you are applying a meaningless time line measurement?
And there was an obsession with every WH personnel move since day one. This way pre-dates Spicer's resignation.
Who really gives a shite who the press secretary is? No one knew who Spicer was before. No one knew who Sara Sanders was before she started filling in for Spicer ( except they knew her dad).

quote:Well Sean Spicer has a much bigger personality than any other press secretary. Mike Myers played one of them and Begala (kinda like KAC) was a huge hit as a recurring role.

Personally I think the all of the exposure is great for Spicer.

If I was Spicer I would've played it up and talked about how much I liked it. Even complimented Melissa McCarthy.
The best way to diffuse criticism is to own it.
He can parlay this into a high paying cable news gig.

In 2012 it was said that...

Pete Rouse (Interim) 2010-2011 Obama
William M. Daley 2011-2012 Obama
Jacob Lew 2012-present Obama
As you can see, no president has gone through as many chiefs of staff in their first term as Obama has to date.
