And 1.5 million fewer people were on food stamps in that same time frame in 2016 under Obama.

Monthly SNAP Enrollment

So yeah, nobody else could have done that.

and NO other republican would have killed as many regulations

Except for that George W Bush fella, who got rid of almost 5 times as many regulations as Trump. Granted he also created a lot more, but there are thousands of more regulations than 2001.

you must not have been paying attention

we have killed 16 regs for every 1 created under Trump

there are LESS regulations no than there were before he took office

that is not true of the W Bush fella - we had net gains of federal regs under him

That was factually incorrect in that article. The original source data showed 41 new rules and 27 withdrawn rules.

It says a lot about this board that not a single person took 2 seconds to question how the author came up with the 16 to 1 number when it wasn't supported anywhere in the article, especially since the source data was linked in the article.

If this board is so bad why do you keep posting on it?

Not really. Trump is carrying on the establishment agenda about as well as any other establishment figure could have.

Because I enjoy it. And this phenomenon is not near as strong when Trump isn't central to a discussion. In fact, it was wrong of me to single out this board when it's more of the nature of the current politics in general. What is alarming is that we all (myself included) get too irrational.

Every other republican:

would have allowed unfettered immigration to continue

would have caved anytime the SJWs began to attack them as being racist/sexist etc

would have grown the size of government instead of cutting 11,000 employees so far

would have grown the national debt instead of decreasing it

would not reform the horrors going on in Housing and Urban Development

would have appointed a Secretary of the DOJ that would have continued policies that said southerners are racist and must have the Voting Rights act govern them (but not all the other states).

Would have stayed in the TPP

Would have stayed with the Paris climate accords

Would have fought more for big corporations going overseas and screwing the American working man

I could go on and on.

Meh. It's down less than 1900 year over year, and I think most Republicans would have decreased it from the Obama levels anyways.

The national debt is growing. And according to the most recent official Monthly Treasury Statement we had a deficit of 364 billion from February (Trump's first full month) through June. And next year's estimate is for a deficit of 440 billion.

June Monthly Treasury Statement

So the debt is not decreasing and we are still running a deficit, and will continue to in the near future.
