You can't have it both ways - our society has decided that 17-18 is the age of accountability for most adult rights and responsibilities. If you take away the responsibilities, you've got to take away the rights too.

Sounds like abuse of power. It no different than a professor telling a student to blow him if she wants a better grade or making your secretary blow you frequently to get a raise and not be demoted
