Wtf was wrong with that take?

Nothing, but it seems that a lot of folks don't think that it's wrong for a Republican to empathize with Black folks, as opposed to the folks at Cliven Bundy's ranch. Keep in mind that Paul never condoned the riots in Ferguson, only that he can understand why inner-city Black folks might view the police differently than suburban White folks.

I never said he was wrong.

Just looking at the political cost to him.

(I also never said he was right, either).

He will no doubt pay a cost, but you have to admire a guy who's willing to say these things before he's even secured the nomination, when other politicians with Presidenital ambitions run for cover whenever any hot-button issues arises. Most Presidential wannabes don't develope this sort of courage until the end of their second term in the White House, a la Obama on Cuba and immigration.

The biggest blowback will be against the ‘reforming’ Kentucky senator, because Republicans back cops, period.

If he ran against another moderate Democrat in the Obama/Bill Clinton mold, I'd actually have a decision to make.

Yep exactly how I feel too. Rand is the first Republican (more like a RINO) that I have even thought about voting for in 20 years

My decision is already made in the event that Rand and Hillary get the nominations.

It was truly disheartening to see what they did to his father, and Ron never stood a shot at the nomination.

One day the GOP will regret this. I think they're already feeling it now. A lot of young folks backed RP and were turned off by the GOP constant attacks on him. He'll be seen as a "prophet" one day in the future.

yea the GOP doesn't give a rat about that, they are afraid of Paul, he reminds people of what they(the GOP) are not,,, ie for limited govt.

There is great danger for the establishment goppers in the ideas from Paul and the Tea party, who don't or won't follow the standard "two party D.C." script.
