No - it's "This business will get out of control" from HFRO - at least that's what I see.

Gotcha. Seriously though. What would it take to drag us back in? The fall of Baghdad, genocide, the Kurds start losing?

I don't know - other than Afghanistan in 2001 - I'm not sure why we've gotten into ANY of these wars since Desert Storm.

I didn't say it had to make sense. Just wondering what would do it.

What is funny to me is that it seems everyone learned a valuable lesson from Iraq. We all learned that you don't depose a dictator in that region if he doesn't pose a direct threat to the US or it's allies. We saw up close how much bloodshed and grief come from destabilizing a Muslim country.

Everyone except Obama, that is.

Do you really not see what a ridiculous reach you're making with this statement? How the frick do you know what is really going on in Beck's mind?

Answer...he don't. For even a professional psychiatrist to make such an assessment, they'd have to listen closely to statements that gave away sub-conscious or willfully deluded or downright disingenuous lies.

Beck is probably THE most independent commentator out there; hell, he couldn't even hack it on the Right wing Fox. Like when he called out Obama for RACIST (oh wait, let me employ the PC term...*racialist* ) policy/giveaway comments like "the police acted stupidly" and "if I had a son"...bs.

Beck cut out, and those of us who wanted to see him able to speak his opinion without coercion, supported such. Damn Fox News and their business model, bowing to sponsors.

Beck is generally a year or so out ahead of the Media. When you are your own boss, you can say stuff that employees who are held accountable by moneyed interest or votes, can't say.

This whole 'Beck being a group think' guy is either the opinion of a LOW INFO (uninformed) individual who don't listen to Beck or his Channel...or that of a group think individual who has bought - hook, line and sinker - those who fear Beck's honesty, and seek to discredit his voice. Classic Alinsky. Or classic ignorance. This poster no more knows Beck, than those who criticize the Tea Party - but did not go to assess that HALF MILLION individuals who gathered on the Mall at Beck's beck and call - yet claim to know the Tea Party individuals. Well...I did. Not a SINGLE stick of trash left on that Mall...and not a single individual that I'd be uncomfortable with having as a neighbor.

Believe what you will. We are all captives of the mindset of our beliefs. Perfect justice. Either one has "eyes that see and ears that hear"...or one don't.

Beck is not perfect. But he is honest. I love Beck. I love honesty, and despise a lie/liar. I love Truth. I love Beck. Good and brave man.

Possibly. But it's like debating which is the best terminal cancer.

quote:

This is what you chose as a highlight of his career?

This just makes my point. This is what I'm talking about when I say he is just another herder. He herds the conversation into left vs right, keeps the conversation within that pen and we continue to fight amongst ourselves while the real criminals, those who really pull the strings; whom Beck and his ilk dare not unveil, continue to run amok.

quote:

those who fear Beck's honesty

Oooh, right. Calling out Obama on his racist policies has me shuddering in my boots. Because the current clown puppet in office is any different than the previous one or the next one.

quote:

Glad you mentioned it. I went to several of the very first Tea Party gatherings after Ron Paul started it all. I saw how the charlatans like Sarah Palin, Rick Perry and yes, Glenn Beck infiltrated, seized and effectively killed it.

quote:

HALF MILLION individuals who gathered on the Mall at Beck's beck and call
You'll let me know, won't you, when you get the newsletter informing us of when he will rise from the dead? I wouldn't want to miss that, too.

quote:

Believe what you will. We are all captives of the mindset of our beliefs.
You've given a shining example of that.

quote:

But he is honest.
He's an actor. Do you also watch Soap Operas and believe those storylines as well?

quote:

I love honesty, and despise a lie/liar. I love Truth.
Then let me be the first to vote you "Ironic Poster of the Day."

Congratulations.

Actually you can force it. We just never tired to at least not at the level of force it would have taken. Which I'm not saying we should have. I was never into the whole nation building thing to begin with. Bomb, yes. Build, no.

Yeah, let's just go around blowing shite up without plans to reconstruct! That'll learn the threat that never was.

This country is embarrassingly absurd as it relates to Defense. Do you guys understand that without the reconstruction these wars would not transpire? We are not policing shite, we are profiteering. Democracy is a marketing term.
