But according to you progressives, Merkel and Germany are the leaders of the free world.

The progressive definition of free is so warped.

Germany and Austria are crazy. Their speech laws (along with France) make Berkeley's speech laws seem sane.

They have been beaten down and shamed by the world to never speak up again. Impotent.

I was in Austria and talking to an old veteran of WWII in a pub and just casually asked..."something, something, something...regarding the army and Hitler."

And he freaked out and looked around nervously and said...Shhhsh!!!!

You literally can't say Hitler in Austria or Germany even if discussing history or a research paper.

These laws are most definitely targeted at right wing parties and their supporters. The political class in Europe would rather charge folks like Jean Marie Le Pen, Geert Wilders, and BNP and EDL members as opposed to fundamentalist Islamist preachers, who can actually be linked to violent acts throughout the continent. It's utter insanity that the European population not only allows it, but endorses it.

"Violence" on the internet.

The left has been trying to get speech labeled as "violence" for a while here, especially on college campuses. I've seen the argument that "criticism is a form of violence" many times. People say they're "snowflakes," but they aren't. It's just a strategy for shutting down all disagreement.
