They literally don’t care. They’ll ignore it anyway. Remember the signature verification laws? Dems sure fricking didn’t.

Based on (some) of the bills dropped they woke up. They have a majority in both houses and the governor.

Georgian’s are about to hear suppressing the vote more than they did in the 60’s. It will be repeated over and over regardless of which Bull gets through.

Many if the Republican bills contradict each other. Ranges from doing away with no excuse absentee to simply changing signatures out for drivers license numbers (not a fan).

Lots of debate coming. Rural Georgia needs to step up.

Senate today passed SB67 &Again, Dems are upset but Republicans should be also. This is a bullshite bill that only requires a driver's license number. The SOS is pushing this just to make it easier on them with no signatures. It does NOTHING to stop cheating all anybody needs is a list of DOB and Drivers' license numbers to go at it.

Senate passed Dem bill SB 40 today allowing early opening and scanning.

Senate passed SB 188 which requires some better data reporting.

The major bills that actually would increase absentee restrictions or limit absentee voting are in committee still.

Lots of action but coming mainly down to two omnibus bills SB241 and HB531. Changes coming for both. Some actions on smaller bills will get play but these two are the main ones.

Sadly, Republicans going to cuck as the phrase would be and pretend like adding the driver's license number on applications is some big deal. Kills me they are pretending like this is somehow more ID than a verified signature.

HB531 is out of committee with changes (isn't showing changes yet made on final vote).

Require absentee voters to submit their driver’s license number, state ID number or a copy of their photo ID with their ballot.

Shorten the window in which voters can request absentee ballots; they would have to do so between 11 weeks before the election and two Fridays before the election. (Currently Georgians can request absentee ballots between 180 days before the election and one Friday before the election.)

Prevent election officials from mailing absentee ballots until four weeks before the election.

Bar election officials from mailing unsolicited absentee-ballot applications to voters.

Limit the early-voting period to business hours during the three weeks preceding the election, plus the second Saturday before the election; early voting would no longer be allowed any other day, including Sundays (this already been pulled).

Clarify that no one can give food or water to people standing in line to vote. (Separately, Republican Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger has argued that this is already against the law, and he has announced his intention to start enforcing it more.)

Allow ballot drop boxes at early-voting sites only, and only when those sites are open.

Limit the use of mobile voting facilities, such as buses, to emergencies.

Throw out provisional ballots cast in the wrong precinct.
Prohibit counties from accepting outside funding for elections.

SB241
Require that voters have an excuse to vote absentee

Require a driver’s license number or state ID number to apply for an absentee ballot on paper (this is already required to apply for one online).

Require absentee voters to get their ballot envelope signed by a witness and enclose a copy of their photo ID with the ballot.

Empowers the state to remove local election officials from their posts.

Also limit the use of mobile voting facilities to emergencies.

5 voting Bills made it out of Senate Committee Friday. HB 531 (above) is set to be voted on by House floor Monday.

SB 67: Ends automatic voter registration

SB 71: Requires an excuse to vote absentee

SB 72: Calls for more reporting of voters who have died

SB 74: Allows poll watchers in tabulation centers

SB 178: Bans governments from mailing unsolicited absentee ballot request forms

All of those 5 sound good. Really need to end a county being able to accept money from really any group. End the Zuckerberg BS.

SB 67: Ends automatic voter registration
This one is a maybe and will get barraged with suppression. It just changes the DMV from being you declining to register to vote to choosing to register to vote. I have no issue with people making a choice.

SB 71: Requires an excuse to vote absentee
I can see some Republicans backing out of this one. They best get their arguments in line as to reasons why (outside of the obvious).

On one hand these bills would be good (if election officials could be bothered to follow their own fricking laws!)

On the other hand this just proves what everyone already knows - Trump won Georgia big. It was a coordinated effort with all the other swing states to cheat him out of office. Now they're cleaning up the mess to save face

HB351 was passed today by the House. Goes to Senate. Dems and media upset but honestly this bill doesn't do that much.

Limits voting busses to emergency only.

Security paper to authenticate ballots (doesn't tie to a voter)

Absentee ballot applications start 78 days before election not 180. Must be received 11 days before the election (was like 5 days).

Applications and absentee ballots need drivers license number (or copy of ID) vs signature

Applications only mailed if requested by elector

No person can send in an application for you (other than authorized relative, guardian, etc)

Misdemeanor for others to handle a filled in application

Limits number of drop box locations or INSIDE voting locations. Drop boxes closed when voting isn't active. Drop boxes closed once advanced voting has ended.

Ability to open and scan verified absentee ballots early (can't actually tally until voting has closed)

Absentee scanning viewable to public

No providing money, food or drinks to people within 150'

You must vote in person at your precinct or it doesn't count (unless absentee).

Duplicate ballots must contain a reference number that links back to original ballot.
