Yeah, they just voted-only 3 people voted against. I thought that was for getting the wavier legislation drafted, but I was only half-listening.

On CSPAN, about to have some fun callers.

ETA: yes they just approved the waiver, CSPAN recapping

Will do! Thanks for the feedback. I know several families that are building these hearings into their (homeschool) civics courses. Good stuff! Also intend to do more research into each individual and look at their reading lists, etc. I know Mattis is an avid reader, especially of history. It's great when an appointee is a person of substance and not a political empty hat.
This makes me so happy hearing kids will actually be learning about history via homeschool. My sister homeschooled.

Who voted against?

Found it

quote:

Just three committee members -- Democratic Sens. Kirsten Gillibrand (N.Y.), Richard Blumenthal (Conn.) and Elizabeth Warren (Mass.) -- voted against the waiver.

Thank you! It's amazing the wonderful learning that can happen when parents are fully involved and not hampered by the public school agenda.

They probably forgot because it's been 8 years of no credible Commander in Chief.

THe analogy I would use is that the current administratoin has hired 'C" students to tell the 'A and B " students what to do.
The contrast between Sessions, Tillerson and Mattis with what we have now is striking.

As a Michigan guy, I feel the same way I did the day we hired Harbaugh: "so we had Hoke and ROdriguez and now we have Harbuagh?!?". Elation would be the proper term.

Blumenthal voting against it surprised me after hearing the way he spoke about Mattis during the hearing.

Mattis never got himself captured.

I think I'll trust HIM.

Just finished listening to it.

Not bad....but.....

GODDAMNIT LINDSEY GRAHAM.

Seriously, I'm a big supporter for Israel and all, but his constant questions about Israel irritated the shite out of me. Mattis handled it beautifully though.
