Gabbard might have been a good Ambassador to the UN but you don't entrust that level of power with a 3rd-term Congressman from the other party.

I do think however there are probably moderate-to-conservative Democrats that Trump might consider as Secretary of Defense to show bi-partisanship. Bayh for example would be interesting.

Why in the hell would Romney want to be the fricking commerce secretary? You don't put a former presidential nominee in charge of the commerce department.

Romney should be put in charge of the VA.

He's a turn around specialist, and it is a position that would not lend itself to subversive shenanigans.

Still doesn't equate to his past position.

Would be like Saban retiring, then coming out of retirement to become associate AD for Title IX enforcement at Iowa State.

What position is that? governor of Massachusetts? That is the highest position he has held. Lots of governors become second-tier cabinet members.
