Baptists are also wrong on the sacraments, but at least they're Christians.

OLd school Sabbath will always be Friday dusk till Saturday dusk. Having a Saturday evening mass does nothing for this.

We know that the very early Church was worshipping on Sunday so are you talking pre-Jesus old school?

It’s not hard. It’s in the Bible. If you choose to ignore it, that’s between you and God.

The world is no more wicked today than it has been at any point in history.

2 Timothy 3:1-5

But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty. For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people.

Does it say LAST DAYS or does it say wickedness will remain the same from now until the end of time? The above describes how people are today. People have not ALWAYS been that way. If they had, the Bible would not bother describing how people in the last days would be.

Stop adding your opinions to the Bible.

Matthew 24:12

And because lawlessness will be increased, the love of many will grow cold.

Again, does it say “lawlessness will remain the same until the end”?

Stop adding your opinions to the Bible.

Matthew 24:37
37 For as were the days of Noah, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.

How were the days of Noah?

Genesis 6:5
5 The Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intention of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.

Oh, so now we are back to the level of wickedness that existed in the days of Noah before God wiped out the entire planet with a flood? Wow. Crazy what you learn when you simply open your Bible instead of forming baseless opinions in your mind.

quote:

Live right, and the rest takes care of itself.

You have a lot to learn my friend. Living right doesn’t get you into heaven. You cannot earn your way into heaven. Trusting in Christ alone as your savior is the ONLY path to salvation. Do you trust in him or do you trust in yourself?

Ephesians 2:8-9
For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.

Romans 10:9
Because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

Titus 3:5
He saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit,

Matthew 7:21
“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.

What is the will of the father?
John 6:40
For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who looks on the Son and believes in him should have eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day.”

Galatians 2:21
I do not nullify the grace of God, for if righteousness were through the law, then Christ died for no purpose.

Romans 6:14
For sin will have no dominion over you, since you are not under law but under grace.

John 6:37
All that the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never cast out.

quote:

“Knowing” more than your neighbor doesn’t get you bonus points in the afterlife.

You’re right, but it should motivate you to actually know what you’re talking about instead of forming baseless opinions.

Ok, I know God will judge me, hopefully in a positive light. But you are right it’s between me and god. Thanks fully for me and all of us he is merciful!

My point was that confirmation bias can happen when doing research. Just because you do research doesn’t mean what your conclusions are accurate.

Wait, you say don't add your opinions to the Bible yet you are doing exactly that.

So am I, and I come to a different conclusion. What makes you right and I wrong?

We likely will go back and forth, but as we have said many times before there needs to be an authority on the scriptures. Catholics claim this is the Magisterium or the Church. Without the Church there would be no Bible.

I referenced scripture and you still don’t get it?

Here let me darken the words to help you:

2 Timothy 3:1-5

You referenced a passage, than interpreted it. How is that not an opinion?

Just because you believe your interpretation is correct doesn’t mean it’s not an opinion.

Again, your opinion is that lawlessness has increased in our time. Explain to me how this isn’t an opinion?

The Bible doesn’t need interpretation. Look at the post above your post that I just added more to. There’s no debating what that says. I don’t need to interpret what the Bible literally states.

What exact statement did I say that you disagree with? I can solve this right now. The Bible literally says that lawlessness increases. What more do you need to know?

I think I was confused, are you saying today is the time that wickedness increases?

But interpretation is needed, the Bible isn’t as simple as you make it out to be.

Well as long as they don't take an adamant stance against abortion it will continue to be fricked up. You can't be serious about your religious beliefs while making exceptions based on conveniece and politics.
