Now you tell me Macron has commited French troops to the war in Ukraine. Not good, France being a NATO member and all. Yep, these fools are determined to get us all nuked.

So which other NATO country will join the war now - Poland, Germany?

In the meantime Joe Biden continues to babble incoherently as he campaigns for another term. I've noticed Potatus has acquired the infamous 'Nancy Pelosi freeze face'. He just committed another 300 million in arms to Ukraine. Concurrently, Bidenflation is ramping up.

Yep, I can see it coming - Ukraine war explodes into WWIII.

There's your boy, democrats. The leader of the free world.

I would think you'd appreciate realists and pragmatists like Mearsheimer and Jeffrey Sachs.
Mearsheimer on Ukraine getting wrecked.

"This war was completely avoidable. The party in this conflict that actually sought diplomacy repeatedly was Russia.

Not something you'd read in the New York Times...

We could use diplomats like this. Unfortunately, we have insane neocons running our foreign policy. I remember when the left hated them, those were good days.

The west fooled Putin on the Minsk accords, supported the Maidan revolution.

What person in their right mind would think the neocon west would bargain in good faith?

All this hard talk may not come to fruition anyways. It's been thought that Moscow would rather not annex a pro-Ukraine population west of the Dnieper River.

I say beef up NATO more.

This arrogant attitude is why the world has done a 180 against the US. Our only allies are the ones we buy with money/aid. This attitude of being the world's self appointed police man is past it's prime.

NATO is a dead man walking, we don't have the money or public support for it. Those countries are rich enough and when combined have a higher population than the US to draft from.

Putin has dreams of being Peter The Great reborn. The list of agreements that Putin has reneged on is long.

Merkel and Hollande straight up admitted that Minsk II was all BS meant to buy Ukraine time to build up their forces.

Russia would have settled for NATO neutrality twice (Dec 2021 and April 2022). I don't think they trust most parties who would handle the negotiations now. Can't blame them for going for the kill.

Same as Israel/Jews v Hamas/Islamists. It's one or the other.

No, we just vote them into office instead.

That is the stupidest fricking take on this board. You should be banned for such nonsense.

Putin is about the security of Russia in the face of transnational progressivism. Anything else is bullshite.

Maybe 2 years ago....maybe. But if reports are to be believed Russia now has the advantage. Why would Putin seek to give up his advantage now? The bleeding will continue until someone has had enough or runs out of blood to give.

And you’re a liberal idiot!

If your going back to the past I. Bringing up Putin is ex-KGB, then go ahead and look up the history of NATO & EU a-hole.

They are overstepping their boundaries and Russia knows these are the same evil pricks that created the Bolshevik Revolution.

Russia has every right to defend this encroachment.

I think you may be one of the dumbest posters on here. Your username count be more opposite!

People who were a few years ago going on and on about American "hegemony" are now Warhawks.

Crazy times we live. 10 years ago most of us wanted more focus on Americans and less bullying the world. Yet here we are with sabers rattling because of cheap propaganda.

Why are nations wanting to join NATO if Putin is not a threat? Even nations like Sweden of all people, why would they subject themselves to NATO if Putin was the amiable guy most of you have been conditioned to believe he was?

Right.

The longer it goes, the odds are greater the temptation for third parties to put boots on ground

100%

A century ago, the neocons ancestors were Bolsheviks. Times have changed, but their children are as evil as they were.

This region of the world has been in conflict for millennia. We are thinking in terms of years (decades at most) to win or lose this war. Russia is thinking in terms of centuries and with the possibility of perpetual conflict.

The Putin Appeasers on here said they were
liberating Ukraine from the Nazi's.

Who were the Nazi's partners on 9-1-1939?

No one has to "think" this. Russia has repeatedly tried to negotiate.
