If there system is so great, why then do they come here for some of their healthcare?

Don't you think if the US went to single payor we would also see these same issues popping up like in Canada?

Canadians come here because we haven't built a Canadian border wall yet

Or the brits for that matter, as well?

When the Obamacare vote was happening, (and during the Olympics) the brits and the left were lauding the british healthcare system. It was funny, because their accounting numbers are known to be worthless as far as # of insured and rationing of care.

My next door neighbor moved to Texas from the leftist Mecca of Toronto 10 years ago to,and I kid you not, to give his children a future. All are now US Citizens.

Probably for the same reason that Americans with the means to do so sometimes travel the other countries for care, i.e. there are procedures not available there or there are procedures that are available, but the top experts for the procedure are elsewhere.

Uhh pretty obvious why...if you don't want to wait and have the means to privately pay for the best healthcare possible then they by all means go and do it. But the people that don't have the means wait and still receive the healthcare they need. It's a pretty simple concept actually, you can still go get whatever treatment at whatever doctor you want if you have the means too.

They are gravy fries with cheese curds... It's the closest thing to American culture they have.

The British health care system worked fine until the EU crippled it. Letting any EU citizen just show up and get care but a huge strain on the system.

Americans don't travel to other countries for medical procedures unless they are trying to save money or escape the FDA.

People from around the world come to the US for advanced treatments, surgeries, and diagnostics. If you can afford it there is no better place, assuming you believe in Western medicine.

This is the direction that Democrats are tying to take the US. A single payer healthcare system controlled by the government and payed for by increased taxes, that will provide healthcare to anyone who crosses our border.

All the more reason why the EU needs to be eliminated.

It's outlived its purpose.

Cost savings is certainly the biggest reason, since there are a lot of countries that can provide the same quality at lower prices and better amenities, and that should be of note, but it's also because other countries do in fact have their own niches of innovation as well.

Singapore thrives on using their strong public investment in medical research and technology to offer medical tourists a less expensive, extremely well regarded system for people to take advantage of. To the tune of money in the billions from medical tourism.
