The alt right is a loose collection of people who mostly organize online, generally for a spectrum of the following ideas:

- nationalism
- uní-culturalism
- non-interventionism
- protectionism/fair trade
- controlled, limited immigration
- efficient government
- freedom of speech
- Rabidly anti SJW

The rest of the issues range all over the place.

Notice "white nationalism" or "racism" or "nazism" are absent. "Constitutional Conservatism" is also absent, because that's not really an alt right thing and doesn't go with the protectionism. Not exactly mutually exclusive, but not part of it.

Edits:
- the alt-right is a term that was coined a while ago, and not actually by the media. Alt is simply an alternative to what is seen as the standard right, a neo-con evangelical conservatism.
- uni-culturalism being the idea that each nation should have a single, unifying culture (though regional flavors are acknowledged) also preferably language. The opposite of multiculturalism.

I hope I helped everyone.

It's a new label for people who don't vote Democrat.

Nice list.

What percentage of people in that movement would support a king? It's a novel idea that I have seen some of these blogs talking about.

The MSM might label it that way, but from what I have seen over the last ten years it is a lot deeper than that.

There is some good stuff that comes out of the alt right or whatever. I have some fundamental disagreements with a few if their positions but its refreshing to see something other than neo con or liberal make the big stage.

Do I have to sign up or does a liberal have to label me as "alt-right"?

There is certainly a subset of the alt right internationally that outright supports limited forms of democracy, up to and including monarchy and fascism. From what I have seen, they are more concentrated in Europe.

This is what I've been trying to figure out. If someone has an answer, let me know.

Look, I'm all for fascism or a monarchy as long as I'm in charge.

Yeah your /pol/ definitions are pretty neat for millennials. This isn't some dipshit image board for Anime. There is no alt-right. There is right. Right believes in our constitution, and right will fight for it.

Life isn't something cooked up on a message board full of pedophiles and kids who think they have an animal identity.

Right is right, and at the moment we appear to have the upper hand. I hope we don't squander it.

Lol, ok dude. Go play in your sandbox and sort all your toys into two nice little piles, the adults are discussing political nuance.

I'm going to go ahead and guess I voted in my first presidential election while you were still shitting green. Your "nuance" are going out on freeways and trying to play Frogger on the hard level.

Yep and it will always be a tainted word because of it. The "new" alt-right need a new moniker

The issue is that these terms are used as cover by white nationalists. Look at David Duke's website. This is literally the outline for it.
