JBE and Cassidy aren't up for reelection until until 2019 and 2020 respectfully. Louisiana has a recall process, but it is so cumbersome and burdensome that it may as well not exist. We will need a capable, not stupid, primary challenger for Cassidy. That will be tough. I think Jeff Landry will be up to the task of beating JBE, but I don't think Maness will have a shot against Cassidy. I don't know who else we've got in the tank as a state. Most in office (Graves) won't run against a fellow republican.

God, the Louisiana republican party is such a freaking disaster if these two are now deemed the leading "standard bearers." Hell, who am I kidding, it's been that way for years.

There are "republicans" still on this board that love the hell out of tax and spend liberal, sue happy JBE but are too big of a pussy to refute this and even defend him here.

I will be voting for Cassidy's primary opponent. There's no reason why he should be as moderate as he is representing a state as red as Louisiana.

But he's not a crook. He's the furthest thing from it. He's one of the nicest and most cleanest people you will ever meet. The problem is that he's just too much of a bleeding heart and not conservative enough.

It seems like at the time everyone I knew voted for Maness. I didn't see nearly as much support for Cassidy. Maybe that was just local to our area.

You're probably right. He'll flog the Jesus and gay-baiting horse over the finish line.

Outside of a perfect storm of a hiccup with JBE in 2015, republicans have absolutely dominated this states politics. It even elected a moron like pinky nungesser as Lt Gov over a qualified democrat with the same margin JBE got and elected Kennedy to a Nate against the JBE endorsed democrat and republican reps by gigantic landslides. It's so bad democrats are forced to change their party affiliation to survive electorally.

The keys to beating JBE are real simple.

Running a disciplined, professional but tough and intense campaign against JBE and not letting him hide.

No party infighting and no needlessly dragging your front runner through the mud of character assassination for months.

Get your base out to the polls and make sure JBE can't get enough of them back by highlighting his tax and spend liberal record and how he's chased jobs and economic capital out of this state with red tape, taxes, and unnecessarily lawsuits.

If Scalise decides he wants to be Governor, he will be Governor. If not, dont be shocked if Kennedy runs, I'm hearing he's not loving Washington.

Tend to agree with the blueprint....although I don't have your intense animosity towards JBE. However, I would bet that Louisiana Republicans in an effort to show how "conservative" they are will have at least 5 names make it to the jungle primary and they will beat up on each other big time in an effort to see who is the closest to the abstract in "conservative" thinking. My guess is that as much as I cannot stand the guy, Landry goes to the top of the list because he is shameless and is the Sean Hannity of Louisiana politics... all talking points.

Now, if Garrett Graves were to run, I would be more excited.

Can you tell, I really do not like Landry?

Why are assholes "downvoting" instead of enlightening me?

I have no idea why he is characterized as a "crook". I am confused by that.
