I cannot wrap my head around this situation. I think a lot of questions about the logistics of this portion of the investigation will be answered by the specific evidence seized during the searches.
The whys are purely speculation until we see the whats.

I guess if it has to be laid out for you, due to the past alleged misconduct by the Government yes it is shocking to most rational thinkers that the White House comms were swept up in intercepts and likely more troubling is that an attorney in a civil suit knew about this.

I have a problem in general with expansive wiretap powers. People who've never been in front of a judge have no idea how easy it is for law enforcement to obtain a warrant. The majority of federal judges are themselves former prosecutors, who have about as much respect for individual liberty as the progs on this board who are cheering on the surveillance state.

IMO it's newsworthy because the Cohen's under investigation for campaign finance fraud and... and well, you know.
