This has been in the works for years. This investment is just due to all the natural gas sitting around looking for a home.

This guy gets it. It's all cronyism.

Texas and Louisiana have never been known as O&G havens.

Great perception, StrongSafety...asset to the PT, you clearly are.

This has way more to do with Trump than Tillerson. Stop the constant onslaught of new regulations designed to stifle the chemical industry and wow look what happens.

Natural gas refinement.

they talk about shifting into shale drilling for crude in that article too, and texas is obviously the place for that if they're only focused on LA/TX

given that fact, and the fact that we know that $10 billion or so of that $20 billion is going to corpus, and that the $20 bil also counts investment as far back as 2013, what do you see louisiana getting?

maybe some upgrades at the BR site? is there any room for them to expand?

I'll believe when I see it, so many companies "pledge to build" get the press then don't follw through.

The plans answer a call by President Donald Trump for American companies to boost the number of U.S.-based jobs, and the White House immediately released a statement from Trump praising the announcement.

Thanks, TRUMP

I knew the Progs were going to hate this news, but the stupidity laced in this reply is just through the roof.

I have to hand it to you: you are stupid, you are proud of it, and you are willing to put it on full display.

Keep it up!

Another news article I saw mentioned that the Louisiana investment is going to Sulfur/Lake Charles and Baton Rouge. It didn't provide details, but I'm guessing they mean the existing port facilities there since this is an ocean export investment.

Jobs are cool but not at the expense of our health and the worlds health.

Sorry I'm not shortsighted. I rather those crappy fracking jobs go to educating those same workers so they can use their brains and not their hands like dumb brutes

Fracking is a pretty complicated process that requires a number of highly educated fluid and cementing engineers.

But you knew that.
