Fox News, Jeff Sessions, Newt Freaking Gingrich, so many CEO's he had to rage quit the council, Ryan and the GOPe cucks............... they're all distancing themselves from him, yet according to the PT Trump did nothing to deserve any of this.

News anchors could barely find anyone to come defend this.

quote:

“We invited every single Republican senator on this program tonight — all 52,” Chuck Todd said on MSNBC's “MTP Daily” on Wednesday. “We asked roughly a dozen House Republicans, including a bunch of committee chairs, and we asked roughly a half dozen former Republican elected officials, and none of them agreed to discuss this issue with us today.” That's about 70 rejections altogether, and other news anchors had the same experience on Wednesday — even on Fox News.

“Our booking team — and they're good — reached out to Republicans of all stripes across the country today,” Shepard Smith told his viewers. “Let's be honest: Republicans often don't really mind coming on Fox News Channel. We couldn't get anyone to come and defend him here. Because we thought, in balance, someone should do that. We worked very hard at it throughout the day, and we were unsuccessful.”

Gingrich

quote:

President Donald Trump is "much more isolated than he thinks he is" following his statements about the Charlottesville protest violence, and he must become "substantially more resistant and reliable," former House Speaker Newt Gingrich said Thursday.

"He has much weaker support in congress than he thinks he does, and I think a lot of it is self-inflicted," Gingrich told Fox News' "Fox and Friends" program. "He had a perfectly good press conference, if he had stopped. I mean, they were talking about infrastructure, it's a unifying bipartisan, positive step on the agenda, and I am sure everybody's standing around him was stunned to have him wander off and reopen an issue that he had successfully the day before put to rest."

....

"Look, if you're a good person, and you hear people chanting anti-semitic chants, you leave," Gingrich said. " I think Republicans have to condemn unequivocally the kind of violence and bitter and bigotry and racism that we saw in Charlottesville.

I'm sure all these people are wrong though and the PT has its finger on the pulse of the American public. I trust completely in your intellectual honesty and ability to see past your own political bias.

His sin was not having the foresight to see what the media was obviously going to do with those comments. Did he mean peaceful protestors are as bad as Nazis? No. Is it incredibly easy to manipulate what he said to make people believe that's what he meant? Absolutely. And any reasonably intelligent person could see it coming.

Well if MSNBC said it then it has to be true...

I bet you thought you were on to something.

I love how barely anyone mentioned this vaunted "council", much less knew it existed, prior to CEO's virtue-signal quitting it.

Guess you skipped the part right under that which quoted Fox saying the same thing?

I bet you thought you were on to something.

It's called mass hysteria.

Trump was right from the beginning. The fringes from both sides are responsible for escalating it to this point. It HAS been going on for years. Both should have been condemned. Nothing happens in a vacuum. Trump was speaking the truth.

Trump was overly defensive and overcompensating in the press conference AFTER the mob decided he didn't say the correct words and was therefore racist Saturday, which was a natural defense mechanism to a mob ready to pounce. He fought back, as he typically does, by going on the offensive.

They have been trying to get him since day 1. It doesn't take much to set the mob off when it comes to Trump. We know this. Then the Confirmation Bias Express starts rolling full steam. Now, some people who I highly respect are calling Trump a Nazi. A fricking Nazi. The same ones who killed 6 million Jews.

Mass hysteria.

This is Trumps fatal flaw. His ego cannot allow him to just shut the frick up and move on. He absolutely cannot help himself.

Yeah, its way too far. The dude is not a Nazi nor does he support them. However, I think his desire to service and maintain a particular part of his core support was a mistake here. This was not the time.

I will say that, like Gingrich, the "good people" at the white supremacist rally comment really gave me pause. Do I think he feels that way? No. But god DAMN what a stupid fricking thing to say. Knowing that the media will do what they will do I put that on Trump, which is the point of this thread.
