The mass hysteria has probably already set in and ammo will dry up.

Hopefully everyone makes it out OK, but we know how these all play out in a few days. I don't know if an M-4 is better than any other AR-15 style? Don't know how many different rounds an M-4 can fire, but I know you baws do. They are all about to dry up.

Again, hope they all make it out OK. Does not sound good for a female cop. With reports of her charging scene while firing and then going down. 2 people are critical. Hopefully shooter is one of them.

I heard it was a ghost gun. Capable of firing 3000 rds. per second.

It's what the news reported?? Nobody is saying full auto.

Of course now somebody just said Kalischnikov?

So apparently the shooter is a character from Grand Theft Auto, and he was using a cheat code to carry ALL modern weapons. For fricks sake.

My point stands on ammo though. I don't know what all options an M-4 can be chambered in?

For a truthful answer to a flippant question, the standard round is 5.56mm (a military chambering based on .223 Remington, although those are only 1-way compatible according to SAAMI - .223 ammo can be fired in a weapon chambered for 5.56mm NATO, but not the other way around). However, as the platform has become extremely popular over the past 15 to 20 years - a culture known as "Lego for adults" has grown and now, generally involving swapping of the upper receiver and barrel, one can fire 5.56mm(and .223, as stated), 6.8 SPC, 300 BLK, and, yes, 7.62x39mm (the AK-47/SKS Soviet round), among others.

There is a larger, heavier version of the Armalite Rifle (AR) chambered in 7.62mm NATO (7.62x51mm), known as the AR-10 or LR-308.

(ETA: For purposes of this thread, I am using the generic "M-4" definition to mean a small arm assembled around an Armalite Rifle or equivalent lower receiver with the same general dimensions and layout as the M-16 or M-4 - not a literal military grade M-4 with select fire capability.)

You don't read so good. But it is OK. I'll help you Homey.

with that line I am illustrating that the story is fluid and I was discussing what I just heard. The weapon named changed WHILE I WAS typing the message.

You are being contrary for contrary's sake if you are denying that there is a run on all form of ammo or similar weapons in the past.

So there you are being redundant. I already made this confession.
