With 11.38 million viewers tuning into the 69th annual Primetime Emmy Awards is even with last year’s show on ABC, which was the all-time low. The 2016 show was down 5% from the 2015 show, which was the previous low. Among adults 18-49, last night’s Emmys snagged a 2.5 rating. That’s down 10% from the Jimmy Kimmel hosted show of last year, the previous demo low.

Trump-bashing Emmy Awards pull worst ratings ever

I don't even watch their crappy shows why would I want to watch a crappy award show for their crappy shows?

Let them continue to double down until they're completely irrelevant

I consider myself a success in life because I didn't know the Emmys were happening this weekend, and I actually forgot about the Emmys entire existence until after they happened.

Why the even get a single view is amazing to me. I haven't watched an actors self agrandizing award show in 30 plus years.

Ah the Emmys. Along with the Oscars, the two biggest examples of a self-licking ice cream cone on the planet.

I used to like the MTV Movie Awards. They used to have some great bits and always had the funny opening segment.

Smug, self-important, pompous, narcissistic douchebags, smugly, self-importantly, pompously, narcissistically congratulating themselves while engaging in groupthink that would make Joseph Goebbels proud.

Who knew that normal Americans wouldn't want to watch a shite fest like that?

If every person who received financial remuneration by the entertainment industry in some capacity watched the show with their immediate families they would exceed these totals. It's completely inside baseball. It's a bunch of narcissists extolling the virtues of narcissism .

Here's the significant point Culturally. It's being rejected not in a casual way, but in a very specific " I refuse to watch way". That's very different. People are over Progressivism. They are now able to recognize it , anticipate where it will rear it's predictable head, and actively avoid it . The next thing will be Oscar " not watch " parties and people organizing informal boycotts of specific media companies and individuals. Like we are seeing with CNN and ESPN. People are just done.

Looks like the SJWs are putting themselves on an island.

Stop them from granting amnesty to 10-20M illegals and we may have a shot.

Well they did say Trump supporters shouldn't watch, well we didn't. It's like they forget that Trump was voted in.

As I had previously said on this board regarding the NFL, these people need to realize people watch television and movies to be entertained; not to have politics crammed down their throats. Average Joe Citizen gets enough of that on a daily basis with social media and the 24/7 news cycle. They are as free as the next person to express their political beliefs, but when they belittle a large chunck of their fan base when doing it, they should expect to pay the consequences.
