Not too fast there. Anyone can run, let's see if he wins before we become a laughing stock.

The fact that his new candidacy is not absolutely hopeless and the reminder to the nation that this smartass criminal was elected countless times in his career already makes us a laughingstock.

Bingo. Francis Thompson, John Alario and Yvonne Dorsey continue to keep getting re-elected to the Legislature. William Jefferson was just one or two percentage points away from winning re-election to Congress while under indictment.

Our voters are just stupid enough to send this convicted felon to Congress to represent us and manage our tax dollars.

How many Democrats who are so vehemently against Vitter and other Rs for their past transgressions will come out villifying Edwards?

I am guessing none.

He can't be serious. He is only announcing so that his friends can funnel him some money in the guise of campaign contributions.

Sorry Stash. I just saw your post. I would have quoted it in agreement.

Do you think the Democrat Party will commit any money to support his candidacy? I doubt you will see any headlines reporting "Democrats Support Convicted Felon", but you can bet the Republicans will run advertisements proclaiming it. They've already begun talking about it to the press.

Of course. Why shouldn't they? The Democrat Party does the same thing as well. I don't expect any different.

But guess what? When ole former prisoner EWE said a few weeks ago that he was the Louisiana Democrat Party's only hope to win that Congressional seat, he was 100% right.

It's only to get the vote out for Mary and other Dems.
