Ebola poses no serious threat to the US. You guys need to take an epidemiology course.

What do you know about this isolation unit? Please, I'm willing to learn.

Check Emory's proximity and relationship to the CDC.

Epidemiology, and a lethal bug. Are we clear?

No, NC, we're not clear. You asked me about the epidemiology of AIDS, and I gave you my rundown. What the hell else are you looking for? I'm sure you can find someone to google and link studies about Ebola that say the same damned thing I've been saying all night if that tickles you fancy. But unless you have something to say "well, NT, this here implies that you're wrong about all this" you can sit in the corner and smoke your pipe.

I'd forgotten how needlessly argumentative old people could be.

epidemiology

NC wants your opinion on the epidemiology of every potentially fatal lethal disease from 1820-present.

Thanks.

And for future reference, don't take the NBME Self Assessment #4. Turns out it is the hardest of the bunch and it'll make you feel like a moron.

Should've looked that info up before I paid $60 for it.

Yea those damn things aren't cheap. I paid $20 for the surgery nbme to practice for the shelf, and I was pissed off immediately after taking it. I'm done with those things.

Tell that to the US HEALTHCARE WORKERS who died from exposure to your noncontagious disease.

Dude, I specifically stated that healthcare workers were the MOST AT RISK for contraction. They deal with the most infectious elements of the most infectious people. They will be exposed. Will be. I offered a, perhaps poor, metaphor that some of the best trained military operatives in the world have been killed by 17yo ragheads that your average hunter in the US could take down one-on-one--because of their constant exposure to areas of high risk. Why are you being obtuse?

So which term were you confused about, epidemiology or AIDS[? The epidemiology of HIV? or the impact of lack of its recognition and the resultant AIDS outbreak?

I've forgotten, NC; what is your medical specialty? Is it Internal Medicine? Often times on here, people don't know with whom they are arguing.

This is how the death of thousands of people starts.

"smart" people trying to solve a problem that is bigger than them when common sense tells you to leave that shite over there.

Why bring dog shite into your house when it's best left outside?

I live about 2 miles away from both and do business with both...
I'm all to familier with how each operates.

No one has ever accused NC of being an idiot, and I thought I remembered reading that he was an MD (didn't remember it being internal medicine or anything else).

What the hell does that have to do with anything. I can and have read and heard the opinions of 100 men of the same speciality--many of whom have experience with the specific disease in question. What's one more guy on my football forum?

If NC truly believes that something that I've posted is patently false, wrong, misleading, etc., I'm happy to hear it.

Is that because healthcare workers are inherently stupid in your opinion, or inherently suicidal vis-a-vis infectious disease exposure?

So you don't know the 33 year old doctor, volunteering with Samaritan's Purse, his wife or the 2 kids?
