Have I argued with the OP?
Shucking and jiving has a history.
Lazy has a history.

quote:I wish things were as simple as you see them. Colin Powell did exactly the same thing; the point was that both sides can be racist.
you haven't really addressed it at all except to try and spin and say Colin Powell did the same thing (which of course he didn't). A bit peculiar if one wasn't familiar with typical tactics to sway unfavorable discussions in a different direction.
quote:Liberal position regarding supposed "dog whistle" words is actually fairly simple.
pretty much anything has a history that involved usage in discrimination, if you look hard enough or stretch enough
quote:You can hate it all you want but this shite has been happening my entire adult life.
No it isn't. I'm starting to hate the piss out of universal statements.
If I said,"Conservatives live in the past and hate black people," would it bother you?
I'm fairly certain that more conservatives hate black people than liberals think "Chicago" is a racist term. I still wouldn't make the above statement. It's not being pissy. It's attempting to be honest.

quote:It really ain't a close call. Stop acting like you don't talk to people.
I'm pretty sure more liberals accept racism allegations against conservatives based on a variety of terms to INCLUDE the Chicago assertion than there are conservatives that hate black people.
I love my friends and parents, but I'm shocked at how many of them dislike black people.
quote:Meh. The board aint pissing me off. I've really come to hate AMericans in general. As a nation, we really have devolved into a bunch of pathetic leeches all competing to see what we can "get".
Rob, I feel like you're a super reasonable guy, but the board has pissed you off lately.
quote:First, I think I may be nearly the perfect example of someone who is a liberal and goes against this belief. I'm an insurance agent. I sell Life, Health and Accident insurance. I am for single payer healthcare. If that happens, my income drops by something like 60%. That's fine with me. My personal convictions outweigh my personal income. As of now, I do my best to educate people on the ways of providing themselves with healthcare that both fit their needs and are affordable to them. If that changes to a single payer system, I won't be upset because I can "get" less, I'll be happy that more people have the thing I'm trying to give them.

I'm principled. I know many people aren't, but I am.
Name a department of government and I'll explain why it's needed, or why it's not.
Name a department of government and I'll explain why it's needed, or why it's not. I'll land on needed more than not, but the point is that most of them are needed, even if they're run inefficiently now
